5 Travel tips for Japan

in #japan7 years ago

•Always carry cash, Japan is a cash based society and not many stores will allow access to credit cards.

•I advise you bring hand sanitizer because of the lack of soap in public restrooms.

•Do not give out tips in Japan, not in restaurants, taxis, etc it can come across as insulting.

•Remember to take your shoes off at people's homes and even restaurants, hotels and shops, if you aren't sure always ask!

•If there is a choice of which airport to fly into (when going to Tokyo) try and get a flight to Haneda not Narita. The reason why, is because it is much easier to get to your destination, for example getting a train ride to Tokyo station would cost ¥580 and would take around 28 minutes. However at Narita airport it would cost ¥2,600 and take 58 minutes.
