Learn jamaican Patois

Patois is our jamaican dialect , we also speak English which is our main language , but Patois is like our second language ,we mostly talk , greet each other in Patios our songs are most time in Patios especially reggae and dance hall music . There is also poetry and plays that as majority done in Patios, it's also strange that when you visit the different parishes in Jamaica you will find it slightly different in the way some people speak Patios.Now there is the Patios Bible wow ! Awesome so let me go ahead and share with you some Patois , words and how it is said in English.

Yuh- you
Den- then
Tek- take
Ting-thing
Goh- go
Sarry - sorry
Aftanoon- afternoon
Sinting- something
Sista- sister
Sar- sir
Di- the
Mout- mouth
Dem- them
Apalagize- apologize
Soh- so
Nat- not
Tan- stay
Wata- water
Smaddy- somebody

Well this is just the first post about Patios , Wil post more stuff on this great language we have here in Jamaica , it full a vibes when you talking in Patios it's, can I say stylish !So if you come to Jamaica or when you come to jamaica you may hear some of these words .one phrase I know you will hear is "Jamaica no problem man " when it come to the beaches and the landscape , and our beautiful people our language is right up there with all of that it makes us unique in many ways , Special . So wanted to share a piece of my culture with you .
