허영을 부리지 않는 나무에
허영을 부리지 않는 나무에
좋은 열매가 열린다
지나치게 화려한 꽃을 피우는 일에
연연해하지 않는 나무에
실한 열매가 달린다
허약한 가지를 오직
하늘 쪽으로 세워올리는 일에만
매달리지 않고
낮은 곳에 있더라도
굵게 자라는 법을 일러주는 나무
가지 하나하나 튼튼하게 키우는 나무들이
때가 되면 알 굵은 과일을 낳는다
흙냄새 몸에 잔잔한 향기로 밸 만한 높이에
반짝이는 열매를 내어거는 복숭아나무 같은
