Barcolana a big sailing race in Trieste every year in October
Every year on the second Sunday of October in the Gulf of Trieste there is the Barcolana. It is one of the biggest regattas in the world with approx. 1700 sailboats at the start.

It is not just about who will be the winner, but a lot more. A beautiful frame, starting from Miramare castle and finishing in front of Piazza Unita d´Italia, Trieste offers a natural sailing stadium, due to the conformation of the Gulf of Trieste, where more than 200.000 spectators can watch this wonderful and unique sailing event.
