Follow Me To Populonia in Italy - Auf nach Populonia in Italien, kommt mit!

Hey guys! After exploring island "Elba" the Italian roads took me to Populonia. The village itself is located on a promontory right on the coast in Tuscany and is 8 km away from Piombino. Allegedly, there are 17 inhabitants in the village itself :) The wall from the Middle Ages was a big eye catcher. I got to know that it was used as protection against pirates. The castle was built in the 15th century and restored from the 18th century. People are able to walk around to the highest platform of the castle, from up there you will get a gigantic view over the sea, even the island of Elba can be seen. In Populonia, I also enjoyed a walk through some beautiful streets. Hmmm, that's how I imagined Tuscany <3 <3

The name of the church is "Santa Maria della Croce" and was built round about 1516 :O

Hallo an alle da draussen! Nachdem ich ein wenig die wunderschöne Insel „Elba“ erkunden durfte, führte mich der Weg auf italienischen Strassen diesmal nach Populonia. Der Ort selber befindet sich auf einem Vorgebirge direkt an der Küste in der Toskana und ist 8 km von Piombino entfernt. Angeblich gibt es im Ort selber 17 Einwohner :) Die Mauer aus dem Mittelalter ist mir vor Ort sofort ins Auge gesprungen, später erfuhr ich, dass diese damals als Schutz vor Piraten verwendet wurde. Die Burg wurde im 15. Jahrhundert gebaut und ab dem 18. Jahrhundert nochmal restauriert. Von da oben bekommt man einen gigantischen Blick auf das Meer, selbst die Insel Elba ist zu sehen. In Populonia genoss ich auch einen Spaziergang durch einige wunderschöne Gassen. Hmmm ja so habe ich mir die Toskana vorgestellt <3 <3

In der Mitte im Bild befindet sich eine Kirche, ....ich näherte mich dieser, um ein Foto zu knipsen...

Die Kirche trägt den Namen "Santa Maria della Croce" und wurde ca im Jahre 1516 nach Christus erbaut :O
