Che bello respirare aria pulita, specialmente se la persona in questione abita a Taranto e ogni giorno respira minerale per l’equivalente di venti sigarette.
Tra una collinetta e l’altra appare un paesino davvero carinuccio, di cui so l’esistenza solo ed esclusivamente grazia alla mia ragazza, la quale è originaria del posto.
Apice è un comune della provincia di Benevento, in Campania. È collocata all'altitudine di 250/300m circa, non troppo alta per respirare aria gelida, ma abbastanza per un’abbondante spruzzata di neve, che purtroppo quest’anno non c’è stata.
Un posto immerso nel verde, dove il commercio si basa prevalentemente su tabacco e allevamento, infatti proprio ieri siamo stati in una frazione (San Martino) del paese, alla villa della nonna per fare cotechini, salami ecc. da un bel maialino.
Come puoi ben vedere in foto ci sono anche le galline, non vi dico al mattino che buonissimo zabaione ne esce.

Il titolo ci parla di città fantasma, questo perché nel ’62 ci fu un terribile terremoto che distrusse il paese.

Tutti gli abitanti furono trasferiti poco più su, dove sorge oggi la nuova cittadina.
Purtroppo, Apice vecchia fu abbandonata a sé stessa, se non per qualche zingarello qua e là sparso nelle poche case rimaste pericolanti.

Da circa tre, quattro anni il comune ha deciso di ripristinare il borgo antico per dar modo ai commercianti di espandersi e creare più turismo. Il progetto è ancora in atto, si è restaurata solo una parte compreso il castello. Di origini normanne è utilizzato come museo e all’interno è presente una chiesa ed un ristorante dove poter celebrare e festeggiare cerimonie importanti come il matrimonio.
