Il Mentalismo! // The Mentalism! [ITA - ENG]

Ciao popolo del web!

Innanzitutto scusate per l’assenza di ieri ma proprio non sono riuscito a fermarmi un secondo davanti al computer e confesso che anche oggi ho minuti contati purtroppo! Ciò nonostante non potevo ancora mancare l’appuntamento e così eccomi qui. Oggi trattiamo un argomento per me davvero interessante e, sempre a mio modo di vedere, a tratti controverso… signore e signori: il mentalismo!

Prima di tutto però devo fare una premessa: non intendo fare un’analisi scientifica di cosa sia questa disciplina ma semplicemente ne farò una piccola disamina semplice e di facile comprensione per tutti… sia perché non sono così ferrato da poterne fare un’analisi esaustiva in ogni suo aspetto, sia perché mi piace parlare facile così che anche chi non ci dovesse capire nulla a livello scientifico o chi non ne ha mai sentito parlare di queste cose, possa capire e apprezzare l’argomento!

Il mentalismo non è altro che una forma d’arte, ovvero la capacità di una persona di compiere azioni che all’apparenza andrebbero contro le leggi naturali conosciute ma che in realtà sono il risultato di una forma di illusionismo. Praticamente il mentalista è in grado di utilizzare affinate tecniche psicologiche che gli consentono di indurre il soggetto a credere che gli si stia leggendo la mente ma in realtà è il soggetto stesso che rivela inconsciamente le risposte.

Il mentalista, quindi, ha una grande conoscenza della mente umana e se da una parte gli consente di far credere al proprio interlocutore di possedere poteri paranormali come “magia” o “chiaroveggenza” dall’altra può sfruttare le sue conoscenze per capire se il proprio interlocutore stia mentendo o meno su un dato argomento… affascinante eh?

Uno dei fattori che permette al mentalista di “leggere la mente” altrui, per così dire, è insito proprio nel nostro DNA: è stato provato, infatti, che l’essere umano è in grado di mentire… ma solo a parole! Mi spiego meglio: per natura siamo in grado di mentire solo attraverso il linguaggio verbale mentre in realtà il linguaggio del corpo non è in grado di farlo e così lascia trapelare inconsciamente, ma solo all’occhio esperto, che ciò che stiamo dicendo non corrisponde alla verità. Ecco, ora sapete che non siamo geneticamente fatti per mentire… lingua a parte!

Ci sono scienziati, non necessariamente mentalisti, che studiano proprio questi argomenti e hanno capito che quando mentiamo il nostro corpo ci “tradisce” attraverso delle cosiddette microespressioni rivelatrici. Tranquilli eh, non è così facile coglierle… si tratta di riflessi involontari della durata di frazioni di secondo per cui capite bene che se il nostro interlocutore non è particolarmente allenato e attento non è poi così semplice essere sgamati! E qui scommetto che scatta il sospiro di sollievo di molti! ;)

All’inizio ho definito questo mondo “a tratti controverso” ed è a questo proposito che nasce la mia riflessione che intendo condividere con voi amici lettori: se, da una parte, comprendere la natura umana è sicuramente un passo avanti nella scienza e nel progresso, dall’altra non fa almeno un pochino paura l’idea che stiamo diventando sempre meno liberi?

Voglio dire, pensateci: va bene assistere a degli spettacoli di magia o illusionismo ma se un giorno tutte queste conoscenze saranno alla portata di tutti, di conseguenza diverrà impossibile, o meglio, insensato mentire perché saremo in grado, appunto, di riconoscere la menzogna! E secondo me non è una cosa da poco perché la verità non è sempre la risposta giusta, quante volte abbiamo mentito a fin di bene per non ferire le persone a cui volevamo bene o per proteggere qualcuno da una verità per la quale non è ancora pronto?

Lo so, certo, parliamo di un futuro ancora lontano ma se un giorno davvero non potessimo più mentire sarebbe davvero un mondo migliore? Io non ne sono poi così sicuro… e voi cosa ne pensate? Spero di leggere le vostre opinioni qui sotto come sempre e intanto io vi ringrazio per esser passati di qua e per gli eventuali commenti che lascerete e nel frattempo, ovviamente, vi abbraccio tutti!

First of all sorry for the absence of yesterday but I just could not stop a second in front of the computer and I confess that even today I have minutes counted unfortunately! Nevertheless I still could not miss the appointment and so here I am. Today we are dealing with a topic that is really interesting for me and, always in my view, sometimes controversial ... ladies and gentlemen: mentalism!

First of all, however, I have to make a premise: I do not intend to do a scientific analysis of what this discipline is but I will simply make a little simple and easy to understand for everyone... both because I am not so well equipped that I can make an exhaustive analysis in every aspect, both because I like to talk easy so that even those who do not understand anything on a scientific level or who has never heard of these things, can understand and appreciate the topic!

Mentalism is nothing more than an art form, which is the ability of a person to perform actions that apparently would go against the known natural laws but which in reality are the result of a form of illusionism. Virtually the mentalist is able to use refined psychological techniques that allow him to induce the subject to believe that he is reading his mind but in reality it is the subject that unconsciously reveals the answers.

The mentalist, therefore, has a great knowledge of the human mind and if on the one hand allows him to make his interlocutor believe he possesses paranormal powers like "magic" or "clairvoyance" on the other he can use his knowledge to understand if his own interlocutor is lying or not on a given topic... fascinating eh?

One of the factors that allows the mentalist to "read the mind" of others, so to speak, is inherent in our DNA: it has been proven, in fact, that the human being is able to lie... but only in words! Let me explain: by nature we are able to lie only through verbal language while in reality the language of the body is not able to do so and so unconsciously leaks out, but only to the expert eye, that what we are saying does not correspond to the truth. Here, now you know that we are not genetically made to lie... language apart!

There are scientists, not necessarily mentalists, who study these very topics and have understood that when we lie, our bodies "betray" us through so-called revealing microexpressions. Quiet eh, it is not so easy to catch them... it is involuntary reflexes of the duration of fractions of a second so you understand well that if our interlocutor is not particularly trained and attentive it is not so simple to be sgamati! And here I bet that the sigh of relief of many! ;)

At the beginning I defined this world "at times controversial" and it is in this regard that my reflection arises that I intend to share with you my readers friends: if, on the one hand, understanding human nature is definitely a step forward in science and progress On the other hand, does not the idea that we are becoming less free become at least a little frightening?

I mean, think about it: it's okay to watch magic or illusion shows but if one day all this knowledge is within everyone's reach, it will become impossible, or rather, nonsense to lie because we will be able to recognize the lie! And in my opinion it is not a trivial thing because the truth is not always the right answer, how many times we lied to goodness not to hurt the people we loved or to protect someone from a truth for which it is not yet ready ?

I know, of course, let's talk about a distant future but if one day we really could not lie any more would it really be a better world? I'm not so sure... and what do you think?
