Death Note (ENG-ITA)

Today I will talk about another manga in my opinion very beautiful and intriguing, those of you are passionate about the genre or even more simply interested in a little in the world of manga will have surely heard, the title in question is Death Note.

The comic book was conceived by Tsugumi Oba and designed by Takeshi Obata and in Japan it was released in 2003, while in Italy it was released in 2006 by Panini Comics. The protagonist of the story is a high school student named Light Yagami who one day finds a notebook with supernatural powers called death note, thrown to Earth by the shinigami Ryuk. For those who do not know in Japanese mythology, the shinigami are the deities of death of the equivalent of our reaper of souls, only that unlike the Western mythology are multiple and their existence in the Japanese mythology is quite recent it is thought that it is an imported cult from Europe. Let's go back to our story: once Light finds and brings home this nice notebook he is explained by Ryuk (who will always be on him from now on) that it has the power to kill people. I explain better: if the name of any person is written in the notebook, this person will automatically die!

At this point the boy decides to use the notebook to free the world from all the criminals in circulation, heroic gesture you will think, well maybe at the beginning may seem so, but things obviously will not go according to Light's plans, first because almost immediately comes another character named L (as the letter of the alphabet) ready to investigate these mysterious murders and, second... Well I let you discover it to yourself! From this manga has been drawn an anime series produced in Japan by Madhouse, while the rights for the Italian edition were purchased by Panini Video and MTV broadcast the animated series in 2008. In addition to the series were made 5 movies and video games. The style is really very special, the story seems to start in a rather trivial way, but soon we go deep into the human psyche and the manga takes a psychological twist that, frankly, I've never seen in other comics. As for the drawings are simply phenomenal, Obata is considered one of the greatest shonen manga cartoonists, his style is almost maniacal and in this work you can see it perfectly, just note his care in drawing the faces of the characters and of the various landscapes. If you are interested in this work I recommend you read it and if you liked the style of the two authors, I recommend their last work (still in publication) called Platinum End.

Oggi vi parlerò di un altro manga a mio avviso molto bello e intrigante, chi di voi è appassionato del genere o anche più semplicemente si interessa un poco al mondo dei manga ne avrà sicuramente sentito parlare, il titolo in questione è Death Note.

Il fumetto è ideato da Tsugumi Oba e disegnato da Takeshi Obata e in Giappone è uscito nel 2003, mentre in Italia è uscito nel 2006 edito da Panini Comics. Il protagonista della storia è un liceale di nome Light Yagami che un giorno trova per strada un quaderno dai poteri soprannaturali chiamato quaderno della morte (death note, per l'appunto) gettato sulla Terra dallo shinigami Ryuk. Per chi non lo sapesse nella mitologia giapponese gli shinigami sono le divinità della morte degli equivalenti del nostro mietitore di anime, solo che a differenza della mitologia occidentale sono molteplici e la loro esistenza nella mitologia nipponica è piuttosto recente si pensa infatti che sia un culto importato dall'Europa. Torniamo alla nostra storia: una volta che Light trova e porta a casa questo simpatico quaderno gli viene spiegato da Ryuk (che da qual momento in poi gli starà sempre addosso) che lo stesso ha il potere di uccidere le persone. Spiego meglio: se il nome di qualsiasi persona viene scritta sul quaderno, questa persona automaticamente morirà!

A questo punto il ragazzo decide di utilizzare il quaderno per liberare il mondo da tutti i criminali in circolazione, gesto eroico penserete voi, beh forse all'inizio può sembrare così, ma le cose ovviamente non andranno proprio secondo i piani di Light, primo perchè quasi subito arriva un altro personaggio di nome Elle (come la lettera dell'alfabeto) pronto ad investigare su questi misteriosi omicidi e, secondo... Beh lo lascio scoprire a voi! Da questo manga è stata tratta una serie anime prodotta in Giappone da Madhouse , mentre invece i diritti per l'edizione italiana sono stati acquistati dalla Panini Video e MTV ha trasmesso la serie animata nel 2008. Oltre alla serie sono stati realizzati 5 lungometraggi e dei videogiochi. Lo stile è davvero molto particolare, la storia sembra partire in modo alquanto banale, ma ben presto ci si addentra molto in profondità nella psiche umana e il manga prende una piega psicologica che, sinceramente, non ho mai visto in altri fumetti. Per quanto riguarda i disegni sono semplicemente fenomenali, Obata non per niente è considerato un dei più grandi disegnatori di manga shonen, il suo stile è quasi maniacale e in quest'opera lo si può vedere perfettamente, basti notare la sua cura nel disegnare i volti dei personaggi e dei vari paesaggi. Se quest'opera vi interessa vi consiglio caldamente di leggerla e se lo stile dei due autori vi è piaciuto, vi consiglio la loro ultima opera (ancora in pubblicazione) che si intitola Platinum End.
