The death toll of innocent Palestinian civilians to Israeli violence from 1948 to 6 October was at least 12,000, with probably a far greater number of deaths from malnutrition and preventable diseases due to Israeli control over food and medical aid to the occupied territories, starting with monopolization and control of water resources so there is scant ability for the Palestinians to grow food to feed themselves.

The majority of Hamas fighters are young men ORPHANED by the occupation. I do not excuse violence, but how do you tell these traumatized individuals to accept more of the same from their oppressors? What do you expect to happen in the future when the current violence has CREATED MORE MALE ORPHANS than it has killed?
