Reuters quoted a military spokesperson as saying that Israeli forces killed approximately 8,000 Palestinian fighters in the Gaza war, adding that this number was derived from statistics on targeted strikes, combat operations, and prisoner interrogations.

Reports from Gaza indicate the death of around 20,000 Palestinians in the region since Israel initiated its ground assault following the October 7 attack by Hamas against
Israel.

Earlier on Saturday, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that 20,258 individuals have lost their lives in Gaza since the start of the intense Israeli attacks on the region.

The ministry reported in a statement an "increase in the Israeli aggression toll to 20,258 martyrs and 53,688 injuries," noting that the majority of the casualties were civilians.

Among the deceased, 201 deaths were recorded in the past twenty-four hours.
