Ghana(black stars) remained in the hunt to qualify for a fourth successive FIFA world cup after an impeccable finishing which gave the black stars an impressive 5-1 win over Congo in Brazzaville on Tuesday, 5th September 2017 after a draw in the first leg of the match in kumasi.
Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey unleashed a super hat-trick with striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom scoring a brace in the comprehensive victory at the Stade de Municipal Kinlele even in the absence of key players like, Asamoah Gyan, Jordan Ayew and Andre Ayew;the trio could not make it due injuries.
In their absence, Kwesi Appiah was compelled to make changes and Yiadom, who replace captain Gyan, poked home the opener from close range on the 22nd minute after some pinball in the penalty area before Partley augmented the tally with a great strike.
An unmarked Lloyd Ayet headed home to reduce the deficit in the 44th minute but Partley restored the two-goal lead to end the first half period.
The congolese keen to get back in the game tested Ghanaian kepper Richard Ofori, who gave three smart saves to deny the home side.
In the 69th minute, Partley delivered his third goal to give the black stars an impregnable 4-1 lead before striker, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom grabbed his second goal which was derived from his finish in the 89th minute.
The result left Ghana with five points from four games, two behind the top spot ahead of Egypt clash with Uganda, and the cranes must force a draw tonight to give black stars a better and realistic chance of qualifying.7020274187800_1377429381478.jpg
