I think there is a very long way to go until the crypto ecosystem is completely safe. It is possible to have your copy paste function compromised, this basically can affect the access to any wallet, exchange, etc
You are right, there is always a risk if you use the private key on the internet. I hope any time Ledger Nano will be able to add IOTA.
