Dev update #8 — Kicking things up a notch

As what many of our users have noticed, COBINHOOD Exchange is maturing into a lean, mean, trading machine it’s always meant to be. We are in the midst of taking things to a higher level, and these updates and development plans show that we are on track for greatness.
What you should look forward to
More blockchain integrations in April: IOTA, NEO
The developer teams from IOTA and COBINHOOD have been in a close working relationship for a couple of months now. And with Taipei’s plan to become a blockchain-powered smart city with the help of IOTA, it makes perfect sense to list $MIOTA on COBINHOOD Exchange in April. While this is a kickoff announcement, a separate listing announcement post will be made available for everyone as soon as the final details have been set.
Another favorite among traders, NEO, a non-profit community-based blockchain project that utilizes blockchain technology and digital identity to digitize assets, is also slated for listing on COBINHOOD Exchange in April.
Regarding our current ICO co-partnership with MoxyOne, the MoxyOne token, SPEND, will also be listed a day after the crowd-sale ends on April 14th. Expect the SPEND token to be listed first and exclusively in COBINHOOD Exchange on April 15th.

What we’ve done in the last few weeks
Full trading experience with the iOS and Android COBINHOOD Exchange apps
Download the COBINHOOD Exchange apps for your iOS or Android devices and trade on the go!
While there are a dozen other crypto-related mobile apps available for your mobile device, COBINHOOD Exchange is one of the few crypto-trading applications that offer full trading capacities for users.
A lot of the important features available on the web browser version of the exchange are also available on the apps, such as account verification (KYC application can be done on the app), and these bug fixes which should improve the way users trade on the go.
Android and iOS improvements and bug fixes
• Support USDT and COB quotes
• Sort the trading pairs and balances alphabetically
• Fix the connection issue by making REST API requests when the app is brought back from the background.
• Reduce animation for better performance.
• Accuracy improvement when calculating the available balance
• Use the market rate API for better balance estimation.
• Fix withdrawal limit estimation.
• Show "time completed" instead of “time created” in the order history.
• Display complete time based on local time zone.
• Show status message KYC form has been submitted.
Blockchain already integrated: LTC, QTUM (and QRC20)
As mentioned we’ve seen new blockchain integration in the exchange with LTC and QTUM listed on COBINHOOD Exchange in March. Currently, LTC-BTC and LTC-USDT trading pairs are available while QTUM is paired with BTC, ETH, and USDT. Integrating QTUM on the platform also now allows us to list QRC20 tokens, starting with the listing of Bodhi (BOT).
Updated tokens and trading pairs
USDT trading pairs
While we await FIAT integrations to be added on the exchange, USDT trading pairs are now available for most tokens currently listed in the exchange.
COB as quote
COB as quote has also been implemented, starting with CMT-COB pairing, with CMT as the base currency. We are considering to add other COB trading pairs to help maximize the value of COB. Further announcements will be made when and which tokens will be paired with COB.
TBAR replaced BAR
On March 13th, TBAR replaced BAR tokens, with TBAR trading also enabled. Users’ BAR tokens were automatically changed to the same amount of TBAR in their accounts.
Added features
Stop Order in COBX
Stop Order
Early March, we implemented new conditional-order servers which allowed us to support Stop Order as a feature on the exchange.
A stop order is an order to buy or sell once the price reaches a specified price. A buy stop order is entered at a stop price above the current market price. A sell stop order is entered at a stop price below the current market price.
Introduced enhanced trading campaigns
While these campaigns make zero-fees trading more rewarding for traders, the API contest, Referral Program, Airdrop Center, Candy Machine, with their respectively Leaderboards, countdown timers, and redemption methods, all required backend and frontend engineering mechanisms to launch these campaigns and their respective pages. Similarly, the iOS and Android apps now run these campaign pages natively on the apps, instead of being redirected to the browser version of these pages. Currently trading, and joining these are more convenient when you use the COBINHOOD Exchange mobile apps. As we continue to run these campaigns, and any future contests that we launch, we will continue to improve the tech mechanisms and the participants’ mechanics for continued improvement of usage.
Disabling 2FA
If you have 2FA enabled on your current device, and wish to use a new device, changing two-factor authentication (2FA) access between devices can now be done by users from the platform. However, If you have lost access to your primary 2FA device, please contact us so we can help you.
UI tweaks
Filled order information
Whenever your order is filled, the partial amounts that fill your order now migrates to the order API.
Updated search and sorting
As the token selection grows along with the number of tokens we add on the exchange we are constantly updating ways for these tokens to be accessed by our traders. Some features we’ve implemented is adding a pair list dropdown menu and panel, and by adding the quote currency and search in the trading pair list.
System message notification
To keep our traders updated with important status updates about the platform, a System Message API has been implemented. Users should now be able to get notified with a message screeen containing urgent information about the platform or the tokens listed on the platform.
More localizations
COBINHOOD is available in your local language; Dutch, Italian, and Turkish versions of the platform were launched in March with more will languages coming.
More permissions were added for the API token
Tech and architecture improvements
Safety & work-flow improvement: access management with RBAC
At COBINHOOD, apart from commission-free trading, what sets us apart from most popular exchanges is our high regard for security. As a security-oriented platform and company, we fine-tuned, even more, the permissions we provide within the team through role-based access control (RBAC). Improved access management allows the tech team to work efficiently by giving access only as needed by a certain member. Plus with a secured permissions system, this limits the platform’s exposure to attackers.
Faster order-matching performance
We have updated our order book API, and the order book v2 runs our matching engine 10x faster in terms of performance.
Listing improvements
To make the listing process easier not just for our users but the tech team as well, we have developed a better way to list tokens by having the ability to launch trading pairs at a specific time that we can set. To encourage our users to do various transactions with the myriad of tokens that we have, we have added a short introduction to acquaint our traders with tokens they may not be familiar with.
Trading improvements
Similarly, to streamline the data processing we receive from all the trading activities on the platform, we have separated order-update into different trading pairs though our updated configurations. We have also implemented a feature which hides inactive pairs and currencies so it will not be cluttered for users. The trading form has also been updated to let users check more precise amounts.
Wallet fixes
An issue that some users experienced with “missing wallets” has been fixed by allowing the old ETH address to accept new tokens.
