INVEST IN YAM FARMING IN GHANA.... SURPRISED? STAY CALM AND READ ON...

Financial stability has always been a major consideration of every person. Those who have their own families would definitely work hard just to provide well for the family. Their hard earned money is usually spent on basic needs and other important expenses in the household. But for those who want to secure their financial standing in the future, they would have to make the necessary investments. Relying alone on salaries would not suffice. And although it is good to have saving accounts in the banks, it is highly preferred to invest the money since the rate of return is much higher.

Unfortunately, few people know about the importance of investments. Most often, they associate investments with high risks where they have high chances of losing money instead of gaining profits. This kind of perception holds some truth to it. But in order to get higher profits, one must learn how to calculate risks.

IN MY BROTHERS MINI YAM FARM

Firstly, it is important to have knowledge regarding the different kinds of investments available. Here are just some of the investment options people generally consider: Capital Stocks, Government Bonds, Foreign Currencies etc. However, these are not the only form of investment that yield high returns. Personally, I also considered mostly these kind of investment until my recent visit to my brother in the village where I probe into investing in Agriculture precisely YAM farming.

The one downside to investing money is that every investment comes with a certain amount of risk. While there is potential to make big earnings, it is also possible that investors will lose all of their investment if the stock or item they purchased should unexpectedly lose value. Some stocks carry higher risks than others, allowing investors to customize their investments based on their confidence. However, this is not the case in YAM farming in Africa-Ghana. One of the main reasons why investing in this farming is that it helps to create more money in the end.

HARVESTING YAM

DON'T WORRY, YOUR MONEY WILL DO THE WORK FOR YOU.

BEFORE PROCEEDING, LETS DO SOME SIMPLE CALCULATIONS ON YAM FARMING.

These calculations are based on 25 hectors of fame land.

Cost of clearing 25 hectors of farmland by tractor = $ 438

Cost of Preparing yam mound = $ 437

Cost of buying Yam Seed for the 25 hectors = $2,500

Cost of re-clearing land after farming = $290

Miscellaneous (acquisition of farmland, planting, harvesting, transportation etc) = $1,000

Total investment = $4,665

A hector of farmland averagely contain 1000 yam mound ie 1000 tubers of yam. Therefore 25 hector will yield 25000 yam tubers. NB. At times, a single mound can produce two or more tubers of yam but this calculation is based on 1 mound equals 1 yam tuber.

TWO YAM TUBERS ALMOST FORMING BUT COULDN'T DUE TO LATE PLANTING.. always plant on time: January - March

Averagely 100 yam tubers sell at $150 ie $1,500 per hector totaling $37,500 for the 25 hector
GIVING us a net profit of $32,835.00

Please not that, this is the profit made when you sell your yam in the village; selling the yam tubers in the cities yield better profit than selling them in the village. The people who purchase the yam from the villages sell them in the cities for profit. You may also want to transport your yam tubers to the city for awesome returns. Also, when you keep your farm produce and sell them later yield better profit. A farmer can sell 100 yam tubers almost or more than $300 when preserved for about three months after harvesting.

Meanwhile, unless you want to increase your farmland, you are not expected to purchase YAM YAM during the second season of planting yam since you are going to harvest both the yam tubers and the seed yam during every harvest ie if you plant your yam early. Some people cultivate more than 200 hectors depending on their starting capital but generally, the number of hectors cultivated increase yearly.

This is a golden opportunity is for any serious business minded person who would like to take advantage of this kind of investment to cultivate yam in large quantity. Apart from selling locally, yam can be exported to the United States of America, United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, Germany, and even Japan. While Nigeria is the major producer of yam in the world followed by Ivory Coast, Ghana is in the other hand the major exporter of yams, accounting for over 90% of total yams exported from West Africa annually.

Why have Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and Cameroon not been FULLY involved in the exportation of yams, leaving the opportunity only in the hands of Ghana? I think ignorance may have played a role in this. Yam farming is important, exporting it is PLUS.

MOUND COMPLETED.. AWAITING PLANTING

Nonetheless, you can establish a company from this kind of farming to became a major exporters of yam from Ghana to abroad. As at now, there isn’t a company that deals in this kind of business in Ghana. Once started, Little by little, a company can be established. The interesting thing is you can still go about your normal duties and let you money work for you. The only rule you play is to supervise your work from time to time and wait for the harvesting. In 2012, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation gave a $12-million (nine-million-euro) grant to a project aimed at boosting yam production and doubling the income of west African farmers of the crop. That’s all for now, Just wanted to share this with you guys and if you seem to reason with me, why not, we can start something small then develop it into a major yam exporting company in the world. Don’t hesitate to share your opinion. Thanks for your time!

#IT IS POSSIBLE! ... SECRET - Most of the wealthy people we know today are into BIG time farming... I hope will see things from my point of view... #establishingacompanyispossible
