Why The S&P 500 And Bitcoin Are Moving Apart

in #investmentlast year

The S&P 500 is an index of the largest US companies by market capitalization. It is a common standard for assessing the overall performance of the stock market and can be used to compare individual companies.

Bitcoin, on the other hand, is a digital currency created in 2009. Its total value has exploded in recent years, reaching around $20,000 per coin in December 2017 before falling below $10,000 two months later.

Both have some things in common: both are volatile, volatile investments and are not regulated or backed by any government agency; both have the potential for high profits but also the risk of loss; and both can be traded with relative ease at any time of the day or night on numerous exchanges around the world. But there are also many differences between the two that make them quite distinct from each other, especially when it comes to price movements over time.
