Introduction Post

Hello Steemit-

My name is Christine Ray and I was recently introduced to Steemit by @raymondspeaks and @eyespluswords.

I am rediscovering myself in my 50s after being defined primarily by my many roles including wife, mother and employee for the last 20 years. I am an aspiring badass, writer, artist, science geek and social justice warrior.

I am creatively inspired by what I am feeling in the moment, what is happening in the world around me, a piece of music, or perhaps even a single sentence or phrase that starts to reverberate in my head.

I write about love, loss, rage, passion, living with an invisible illness, my history has a trauma survivor and my experiences as a therapist and as a woman in this culture. I am passionate about poetry. It is the stream of consciousness voice that explodes out of me. I love the freedom and rawness of it.

It has been an incredible gift to find my voice again as a writer . I think that poets can be selfish creatures who really write for themselves, but it is one of the most incredible feelings in the world when someone tells me that something I wrote deeply resonates with them.

I hope that my words will make you think and make you feel. I am excited to be here.
