Hello Steem. You seem pretty cool

Hello Steemit! My name (well, username at least) is @youngwildfree, I'll get into the details of that in a bit.

I was first introduced to steemit a few months ago by @bluerthangreen. Admittedly, I was intruiged. I was just as interested in crypto-currency, which yes, sadly I didn't even realize was that much of a thing, as I was the supportive blogging community. After a recent conversation with @allforthegood (that woman is goddess material), I was positve I wanted to join the Steemit community.

Currently, I do organic practice farming with my two siblings, and dabble in graphic design (self-taught). I hope to one day add wife and mom to the resume. I thoroughly enjoy outdoors, especially in the fall. Crisp air, incredible views, and wonderful smells.

I enjoy many forms of art: Drawing, painting, writing, cooking, and music. Most any genre, minus polka. Every Sunday our country station plays it and there are always those few seconds of panic before your brain registers that you need to change the station.

Anyways.. A few reasons I joined the Steemit community:

  • I love to write. In fact, I am attempting to write a book, and I credit my mom with teaching me to love words and use them as a floodgate for my imagination.
  • I enjoy photography and designing.
  • Always looking to learn. My grandpa says it was a wasted day if you don't learn something new during it. This is one of the reasons I love talking to the Bluer Than Green family. They know so much, and are always willing share their knowledge, and experience.
  • In hopes to not only be inspired, but to be inspiring, and be challenged. To learn, to grow, to do.

For my username:

  • Young: This one is pretty self explanitory. Not that I will be young forever, but hopefully at heart I will still maintain some of the youth I contain today. Age shouldn't come at the expensive of positivity and happiness.
  • Wild: Next to the world's standards, I am not "tame". I go against the grain the majority of young adults relay today, and I'm almost always up for an adventure.
  • Free: I am a free person, with free will. I can pursue anything I dream up, and as a follower of Christ, I am free from sin because of the innocent blood that He spilled for me.

Lastly, a few posts that you may see from me in the future:

  • My quest for wisdom
  • We built a cabin! * cough cough* We are building a cabin!
  • Farming with the family

Well, I could continue writing, but I think this intro is already long enough. Thanks for reading and being part of my Steemit adventure!
Until next time,
-youngwildfree

Hey @youngwildfree, welcome to Steemit! Once you get over the hump of the Steemit Learning Curve, you'll find this is a wonderful place to share ideas, learn from people and make friends with like-minded individuals.

Here are just a few tips that others shared with me when I first joined here:

  1. Don't fall into the follow-for-follow trick. That is not how to succeed on Steemit. All it will likely do is fill your Feed page with things you're not interested in. There are no rewards for following people or the number of followers you have.
  2. If you like someone's post, upvote it... even if it's not worth much right now. The thought matters most, and you will grow your Steem Power to get higher paying votes to gift to others.
  3. Post regularly and with your original content and photos. Even if the photos aren't great. We love seeing other people's photos and reading their posts. You'll grow a genuine following this way... and that's what you'll want; people who regularly upvote, comment, and share your posts.

I also want to invite you to the SteemitHomesteaders slack community. It is a chat room/group of sorts where a lot of us Steemit Homesteaders hang out to chat, ask questions, and just get to know each other more. You don't have to be a homesteader to join. Anyone into homesteading, gardening, farming, prepping, and such is more than welcome. Here's a link to my announcement post with a little more details about slack and the group as a whole.

See you around!

Thank you so much for the great advice! I will

Sorry I missed your introduction post. I'm following you now so I shouldn't miss anymore.

Pffft don't be :)
