Introduction and verification post

Hello dear fellow Steemiters!

(Is that even a word or did I just make it up? What would you call all of us using steemit? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.)

With this I bring my steemit persona to full life, to live and breathe zeros and ones, traverse through the whole steemit network and beyond, share my thoughts, opinions and projects with this interesting collection of individuals that make up the Steemit collective
consciousness.

But, before doing all that, let me introduce myself.

Out of some reason a few days ago I decided that I would not disclose any personal
information about me, how I look included. So to make sure that this account and
verification post are unique to me, there are some items in the picture that I highly doubt can be found anywhere else, at least in the same combination. So the blue doll thingy, it's
umbrella, the torn brown belt, the rasta hat and snare drum can be used to verify my identity. The blanket on the wall is also distinguishable, I think it's even older than me!

Now that that's taken care of, a bit of an introduction about what you can expect from me. In short, everything! As a journalist (I even have a diploma to prove it. True, from a shitty
college in a shitty country, but still haven't used it as toilet paper so I guess it's worth
something) my areas of interest are wide, from culture to politics, economy to technology, net neutrality to sustainable development, transnational trade deals to local communities... Everything of the above and more, but with one important ingredient that today's journalism lacks so much - a critical and multi-disciplinary approach and perspective.

Combining social and natural sciences is fun! Stopping corporations from exploiting people is even more fun! Fighting for the disenfranchised and underprivileged is more than fun, it's a thrill! Destroying capitalism and fighting for a better future for everyone (at least for those who do not want to harm or hurt others, but more on that will come in one of the first posts) is not just the best fun you can have, but an obligation of every empathetic living being.
