Introduction For Newbies

Welcome everybody, let's get straight to it.

Being new to steemit is virtually like walking into a crowded party and everyone looks at you, how welcomed you feel is based on certain key decisions you make, appearance is everything, you could be glanced at and forgotten in a second or people mite pick an interest in you, the hot guys/ladies are like steemians with loads of steempower or a fair amount, whose acknowledgement is equal to an upvote and trust me you need every acknowledgement you can get (upvotes). Who knows a lot of people mite leave with you (followers). As I said it all depends on you.

I didn't get in armed with the basic knowledge or foresight but hey no need crying over spilt milk.

So what did I do wrong?

I simply didn't captivate my audience, a costly mistake.

So what should I have done?

Well quality is everything, from taking the right pictures to making my steemit CV more attractive and content filled. Even my introduction header should have had more eyes if it read "I cum in peace" lol well you get the idea.

It's worth knowing that handle tagging/mentions of popular steemians (do a google search for most popular writers on steemit) also give you an edge.

Throw a little story, something short, captivating and catchy for boost sake.

And of cos Hash tags, asides using similar sequences like #introduction #introduceyourself #steemit #life try something like #introduction #writer #upvoteforupvote #blockchain etc just think out the box, better still Google search for most popular hashtags on steemit.

And yes timing, having an idea of when people are most likely to be online is very effective, most people work 9-5 jobs so it goes without saying you should target 7pm and up until 11pm, that 4 hour window works really well.

Don't forget keep it brief but captivating and don't hope for things to go right at first, it takes time and dedication.
