My introduction into cryptocurrency

 Today its 11 may 2017, 

I have invested in vary of different coins. Ever since i discovered cryptocurrency, i feel like a little kid in a candy store, and i just realized i should write down how it began for me, so i here i go;

After running boinc software on my student laptop in idle time for over 2 years just for the idea that the electronic extension of my brain was helping someone, somewhere in the world, actually made me feel like i was ahead of time.I know, it exists for a long time, a software program calculating some sort of data.. But to me, my laptop in idle state,  a piece of a puzzle of one big peer to peer connected computer working to find a cure for a deadly disease, i didn't sound very common.

On one day somewhere in January 2017, i found out i could get rewarded for my contribution in some sort of coin called Gridcoin. Hmm… It reminded me of Bitcoin. I heard about it in 2013. A college told me another college, (some geeky IT guy) invested in this coin when it was worth only a few cents and he had made some big profit. It was worth over 30 dollar already! To late to invest, other college’s said.. Little did we know.. I didn’t do my research back then, I remembered the word ‘Bitcoin’ clearly, and it being some sort of digital currency. But i didn’t understand its potential, its technical possibility’s or what really made it so awesome: the blockchain.. 

The ingenious concept that was created by a mythical person in a time the world was in global financial crisis. After doing my research on Gridcoin, i found out Bitcoin was still alive.. And not only was it alive, it paved its way to give birth to many more digital currency’s.From that moment on I was blown away about this amazing movement that is developing potentially huge idea’s. I believe, not even 1% of the world population has any idea about the crypto currency market, smart contracts and the development of decentralized applications.The only time they accendently get in touch with this movement is when the news is talking about Bitcoin reaching a significant price increase, and c’Mon.. We are talking about Bitcoin. Once the word Ethereum hits the news, people will think it’s some sort of precious metal or whatever. 

Anyway, im not an experienced writer and English is not my native language, but i just had to share my story with someone else that can relate to this.I am glad to be part of the community and i maybe crypto currency isn’t as amazing as i imagine it will be in the future. Maybe one day, this bubble will pop. 

But until then, im thankful that i found the world of crypto currency.
