IS IBIZA WORTH IT?

So maybe you are facing one of those really hard decisions that comes around every so often; where to go on your precious and well deserved holiday ? Or maybe you are like me, and just like to have a huge list of your dream destinations, ready for whenever the time comes, so you can just hop on a plane and make your dream come true.

Is Ibiza worth being one of your dream destinations ?

Oh darling, it's a huge YES!

But there is also a pretty big ‘BUT’. Ibiza has got so much to offer in a way like no other place can. I give you this as a promise. If your desire is to experience the island in this unique and magical way that you may have heard of, you must approach this gorgeous island accordingly to its traits. Ibiza is not easy, it's not cheap and it’s definitely not a fake.

To discover the true colors of the island, you will have to look little deeper and take it little slower … and you will find the most stunning, authentic and unforgettable adventure waiting for you. There are few basic decisions that will majorly influence your overall experience of this breathtaking island.

When to visit?

Over last few years Ibiza summer season has expanded and it's safe to say that it starts with Easter Holiday. This early part of the season is popular among families and lovebirds as the nightclubs do not open til late May. The season ends with end of October and the majority of the night clubs close during the first 10 days of October. I would strongly recommend to visit any time except from last 3 weeks of July and first 3 weeks of August, unless you really have to… These weeks are always overly crowded, too expensive, queues are too long, beaches are too busy, it’s impossible to find a parking space and it's too hot.. I think you get the picture...

What sort of accommodation to stay at ?

Stay independent, that's what the real side of the island is all about, its independency .. If it is just the two of you go for an agriturismo, there are so many of them, they are gorgeous, intimate that have authentic vibe and are away from the crowds. For any bigger groups, book a villa with a private pool. This will be by far, the cheapest and nicest choice. Island’s holiday rentals market is saturated so you will have huge selection of stunning holiday homes to choose from.

Do you need to rent a car ?

YES, and this is not negotiable, you need your freedom to let the island take you to those magical places. And they are not easy or fast but they are worth it.

Ibiza is so worth your visit and it is more than capable of delivering you those unforgettable moments. Most of the people who came to the island once, cannot stay away for too long, I have a funny suspicion that you will be one of them too …

However if you just turn up, stay in one of the huge commercial hotels in the peak seasons and follow the crowd you may seriously miss out on it’s uniqueness and all the treasures that Ibiza has to offer.
