Rosie and I Introduce Ourselves!
Helllllleeeew Steemit community! My name is Karyn and this is my precious, loyal pup, Rosie! This is my first post and only thanks to @apanamamama did I figure all this out! <3
What can I tell you about me...
Well, 2.5 years ago, my husband and our 3 kiddos sold just about everything we owned and moved to the beautiful country of Panama! We live in the province of Chiriqui and we are loving it! It's not always easy, but the pace here is a lot more conducive to family life and we are so grateful! We came out here to do mission work and it has been the biggest adventure of our lives!
We have 3 kiddos and we home school. That takes up a good bit of my time and focus, but when we aren't schooling, we love to ride our horses. I'll be sharing photos of them too!
We moved here from the state of Texas, but I grew up in South Florida. I am a trained Pastry Chef but have been out of my field for like 14 years now so.. I don't consider that to be anything special, lol! I just love to bake and so you can be sure I'll be sharing recipes and how-to posts in the future! I never had much time to enjoy baking/cooking in the states because we were running the typical go-go-go treadmill called life.. but here in Panama.. I have more time! For that, I am super grateful!
After I worked in the restaurant industry making beautiful and tasty desserts for about 5 years, I did a quick blip managing a Starbucks store for 2.5 years. THAT was fun, but super stressful. I met my husband (Captain Crypto, more about him soon) while pushing coffee and before long we were expecting our first little baby-cakes! I gave up my store in order to be a full-time mama! It was an awesome experience for me and prepared me for so many things in my life, including the multi-tasking that is motherhood!
Soon after our baby boy arrived, I found that I was photo-crazy. I decided to put my passion to work and started a photography business! Before long, that snowballed and I had a FULL-TIME gig going. We moved to Texas.. and I moved my business too! I specialized in fine art portrait photography.. birth stories, newborns, children, families, and my least favorite.. weddings. Basically, I got fairly burned out on the business side of things and have really enjoyed the break while here in Panama. I still travel back to the states for sessions here and there, and I do a lot of ministry stuff for photography/videography.. but it's all on my terms, lol, so it's low pressure!! ;) I now really enjoy mentoring others in their photography journeys and helping them become as successful as I was! I look forward to some photography posts from time to time as well! Sharing my own fun, as well as some tutorials/instruction!
My other hobbies include sewing (still learning), scrapbooking, exercising, and wrangling my 3 monkeys! Oh, and I'm a huge Australian Shepherd fan.. we have 2 toy Aussies that we brought with us from the states. They are THE.BEST.DOGS.EVER. and Rosie is my faithful girl. Wherever I am.. there she is!! Love her so!
I'll be honest... this whole Steemit concept and cryptocurrency makes my brain hurt.. but I'm determined to figure it out and not get left behind! I can do this. I can do this. I can do this. I think this will just be a fun place to share about our daily adventures and whatever random musings come to mind!!

I know! I tried to do it yesterday as well and it didn't work. I guess they are glued in place.

Yes, we will! Si se puede. I had some the other day in the body of my post and it kept saying I had too many. I couldn't ever figure out how to change it! The first tag is the group that it posts it to...or whatever. I'm not exactly sure, but that's what it seems.
