RE: The Genesis of the Social Network Giving Out Millions (STEEMIT)!
Good history and summary article, @oneday1! It's too bad that you did not write it. You have not substantially changed the text of the article, but in fact have copied it. What you have done is considered plagerism. It is not enough to simply give article credit, add a couple of words to the title and insert emojis into the text. What you should have done, and I suggest you edit it right away to reflect this, is to have made a heading statement right at the top that this was a reprint of an article, and then cite the original author and publication it appeared in. This still is not acceptable, because the original publisher does not allow complete reprints of their material.
I had upvoted this article because I thought it was your original work. Then I read the comments by @cheetah and @neoxian. I decided to remove my upvote because this article does not follow the standards I have for my curation trail. I have people who have delegated votes to my trail, and I feel a responsibility towards those people to be careful with their votes as well as my own. I'm sorry that I did not read your comments before I voted and resteemed this. Please try to be more transparent at the beginning of your articles when you are simply passing along the work of another author.
Cheers!
Great comment!. Every mistake is a step towards a learning process. I have learnt a lot from this and I promise my follow steemians that it wouldn't happen again. I very sorry for this and any inconvenience created. Thank you!
Thanks for your humble acceptance of the learning experience, @oneday1. You are not the first person to make this mistake, and certainly there are many others doing worse than you did here. Learn and move on to bigger and better things. I believe you have a lot to offer the world, so just be yourself, and write from the heart about things you love and which are personal to you. Those are posts that people like to read. Keep trying to get better every day. You will grow in your writing skills as you practice writing. I'm glad you are a member of my Discord Server. You will grow as you participate there. Many of the members have a lot to offer, and are happy to give advice and help.
Cheers!
