Hi, I'm Yinaury. Here to inspire and be inspired!

Hey, new Steemit friends! I'm Yinaury, pronounced [JEE-NOW-REE] weird, I know! :) I'm currently 27 years old. Born and raised in Queens, New York.

I'm one of those nerdy people that actually say reading changed their life.
Growing up, I imagined I'd be married, with kids, a house, and a career, any career as long as it paid well, by the time I was 25. In hindsight, that was the goal. Sounds crazy to me now!
You see, I didn't know then that I was creating an image of what a successful future should look like based on what my parents and most of the people around me believed. It was a very narrow and adopted way of viewing success.

It wasn't until I read "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle that I began to realize there was way more to life than I believed at the time. This new perspective was refreshing and I was inspired to take charge. My mind changed and my life changed with it.

The goal gradually went from achieving the average american dream to learning about myself, what I love, what my skills are, what purpose they can serve, and how I can live out that purpose. I began reading more, watching videos, attending seminars, listening to audio books, playing games, taking classes, trying new things, and exposing myself to anything that would inspire positive changes in all aspects of life.

Since then, I've changed the way I eat, the people I spend time with, replaced bad habits with more empowering ones, and tried things I was once afraid to do. All while learning to love my weaknesses as much as my strengths and figuring out what in the world I'm supposed to be doing or want to do at that!

I've learned a lot from other people on a similar path. Especially how important it is and how good it feels to share our lessons and experiences with others. I love to create content that entertains and educates people so when I was introduced to Steemit and it's friendly community, I was excited to become a part of it and share with you all here as well.

Welcome on Steem Yinaury!

Thank you @teamsteem! For the welcoming, upvotes, comments and most importantly awesome content! I've learned so much from Steemit today than I had this whole past week...thanks to your posts.

Hi Yinaury! I went through your introduction. Your story is amazing! I liked the way you embraced and changed yourself, and also added "A New Earth" to my read list. Books that I'm reading right now: the power of your subconscious mind by Dr. Joseph Murphy.

Ever since I joined Steemit, I have started to read and write a lot, which has been helping me improve as an individual. I think we have quite a lot in common! If you want to know more about me, you could find my introduction post here. ( Sorry for the grammar mistakes ).

Hope to see more of you around.
Bye!

Hey! I'm happy to know the post was already helpful for someone. I will also add that book to my reading list. Thank you. Will check out your intro post now :)

Hi yinaury!
It's good to have someone like you in my Steemit Circle. I would love to check out your future articles.
Do inform me when you have finished reading the Book!
Have a great day!

Awesome! Thank you, again. Will do!

It is really good to know that you are gonna to be around.
Waiting for your amazing posts!

Welcome @yinaury! I just moved from Queens (Sunnyside)a short while ago, now living in upstate NY. Whoa, things are just not the same up here, but, it's all good. Following you now to keep up with things down south ;) I'm @danielshortell, I write fiction (perhaps not very inspiring but definitely thought provoking :) here on Steemit, been a fun journey thus far

Oh nice! I grew up in Sunnyside! I like some fiction as well. Especially if it's thought provoking :) I'll be sure to check out your work!

Hahaha, small world. I miss my Korean grocer on 46th across from the Key Food (right on Queens Blvd). She was sweet, always was so nice to my toddler son and her produce was killer. I miss dodging pigeons under the 7 and watching the school kids mess with the Liberty Tax dude dressed up in the puke green statue of liberty outfit. I need to get back to nyc stat for a weekend :)

Haha! The Key Food is now a fancier supermarket. Haven't been in there but heard it's an upgrade. The pigeons are definitely still there and who knows...I might have been one of those kids messing with Tax dude. 😂 Just kidding! NYC is awesome. Yes, sometimes we need to get away and clear our minds but I think I'd miss the excitement too much.

Gentrification, damn, everywhere! I know Sunnyside was changing a lot as we were in the process of moving out. Miss the crazy diversity the most. In my son's PreK class, only three of the 20 students originated from the same country, that's just awesome. And, almost a third of the kids were biracial...super cool man, you literally have the world on a postage stamp in nyc. here in upstate ny, my son is the only biracial in his class...we have to keep loitering around the university area to get some international culture, ha! all good stuff though, take care :)

Thanks for sharing your story :) I also recommend "The Power of Now" by Eckard Tolle. Glad to see so many people on the positive path to continuous self-improvement.

Welcome to Steemit.

Continue to spread your message. I will be sure to follow you on your journey.

Thank you! I actually read that one right after. Lol Not the right order but still great insights in both. Thank you for the warm welcome. I'll be sure to follow as well :)

Beautiful introduction @yinaury! :) I hope you'll feel comfortable and happy with Steemit and the platform will definitely benefit from your tips and good vibes :) Enjoy!

Thank you! I'm actually already feeling comfortable and happy. Thank to all of you :) I love how the community interacts with each other on here and I'm excited to play a part in that.

Community is the right word :) Some are here for the big bucks... But they don't last long. Focus on good contents, on good vibes, on talking your heart out, and you'll see the difference quickly :)

Sounds great! I'll be sure to post helpful content and spread positivity. Thank you for the advice. 😊

Ahhhh awesome first post!! Good to have you here, finally 🙏🏼❤️

Hi Yinaury! Welcome to steemit! It is the first time here on steemit that I read the name of the spiritual teacher "Eckhart Tolle". It is amazing and wonderful that reading his book was such a life-changer for you. I have read all of his books, the truth in and between his words are very wise. I wish you great success here in the steemit-community. I am looking forward to read more from you! Peter

Thank you for the warm welcome and for taking the time to read my post. I've read all of Eckhart Tolle's books as well and always refer back to them when I feel I need some guidance. Never fails to lift my spirits and remind me of what truly matters. I'd love to do something similar for others with my future posts. Thanks again, Peter!
