Matt's World in a Picture Book - Introducing Myself and My Life

Hello out there fellow Steemates!

I'm very happy to be here, writing my introductory post for all to see! I think it's so awesome that platforms such as this one are actually starting to take hold and show some real potential, and I'm very excited to be getting in early, on what's basically the ground floor of such a project.

My name is Matt... I've grown a little bit of a beard lately, and even gained a few pounds, compared to a few of my other pics, as you'll see... (I'll address the weight gain more in future posts, though!)

I'm a piano teacher... and I love to play piano and sing, as well. But I'm also into bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, current world events, ending the fed and the IRS, self-defense, marijuana legalization (I also work part-time as a budtender at a dispensary here in California) health and nutrition, fitness and working out (although it probably doesn't show much at the moment lol), sustainable technology and communitites, real estate, writing, blogging, photography, animals, travel, and much, much more...

And I live in beautiful San Diego, California, in the United States of America. Roughly an hour drive from the Mexican border.

The weather is basically perfect here. And we have many wonderful beaches, such as this one, in Oceanside, a smaller city to the north.

This one's called Moonlight Beach, in Encinitas - another smaller city just to the north, very close to where I live. This one also happens to be one that many tourists visit on a regular basis in the summertime, and is also one of my favorites!

I have a girlfriend named Rachel...

Who is pregnant and due in August with our son, Theo.

She manages a dog grooming salon, and let's her trainees experiment on my dad's dog, Scruffy, like this...

But my dad doesn't seem to mind...

We have our own dog too... Lucy

And a snake named Shnake...

And a lizard named Turbo (technically a bearded dragon)

And a poison dart frog (not pictured, and no name... lol)

We used to have an albino hedgehog named Violet, although we gave her away because it was just a bit too much... she was (and hopefully still is) really cute though...

We love nature and going hiking in places like this, on the way to hanging lake in Colorado...

And Finally making it to hanging lake...

Or this one, at the top of double peak park in North County San Diego...

And we just like going on adventures in general, like the time we went horseback riding...

Or to the hot springs in Glenwood Springs, Colorado...

Oh... and we also really like food, and healthy eating in general when we can, and especially low-carb and paleo recipes (i need to start eating like this more again haha!) Like this Frittata that Rachel just cooked for us this morning....

So I hope you enjoyed our little slideshow about us. We're planning on posting all kinds of stuff and sharing our lives and adventures out there with more people who love music, food, nature, babies, animals, hiking, beaches, travel, self-improvement, and a bit of just about everything else! We're so looking forward to being part of this community!
