This is the steemit account of the jazz / funk / experimental improvisation collective band White Whales of Montreal.

We are the White Whales, an improvisation collective band that, every week, meets for a crazy musical session! Every time, when we get into our music, we go on an adventure! We do not prepare any pieces in advance, we create everything spontaneously!

The collective exists for more than 4 years, every week, depending on who is available, the members interchange. However, for 2 years now, a solid nucleus has been formed. Musicians know each other and are used to playing with each other. Also, by improvising, the ability to adapt to newcomers has greatly increased!

Every week, we are between 6 and 9 musicians to play together. The jamms are 100% recorded each time and we do the cutting in the week for the best pieces. Since the time, we have a good stock package!

I personally ( @soushi888 ) tend to say that it is as if, all together, we evacuate all that we have to go out in a huge collective bunch and in this big pile, by searching there well, we can find pearls !

We play often in the jazz / funk / experimental style ... We like to walk a lot. By playing often together, chemistry operates and our own color is born ! Our improvised formulas leave us all the flexibility to co-create and evolve with our music freely!

@soushi888 has, by discovering Steem, published recordings of the collective here and there.

Given the warm reception of the community, the idea comes to him to propose to the band to make a steem account to be able to share our sessions of improvisations and, why not in passing, to pay a part of the studio! The idea pleased and the group gave him carte blanche.

He promised to create an account (with Steemaccount !), To hand over to the founders (and main payers), the trumpeter and singer, the owner key and keep the posting key to publish on the account. All the steems won will be used to pay the costs of the studio.

In particular, when the pay-sharing feature will be present, the musicians who contributed to the published songs will be able to directly receive part of the reward in steem account!

So I will continue to publish our songs, this time more regularly. I would post each piece with the transcription of the lyrics. I would also post the translation of each song (from French to English most of the time).
