Introduce Yourself: Enter the mandala of Tamara Lee, Yogini Anarchist
i offer this up to you my esteemed allies in the revolution of human consciousness:
"There is almost a sensual longing for communion with others who have a large vision. The immense fulfilment of the friendship between those engaged in furthering the evolution of consciousness has a quality impossible to describe." -PierreTeilhard de Chardin
my name is tamara lee standard
and i am fucking awake
spent far too much time asleep to pretend now
i could label myself as many things
here are few that make sense currently:
yogini anarchist
mystic prankster
spiritual vixen
critical thinking Evolution Ally
Empowerment Specialist
Wild Wisdom Yogini
but mostly i am a lyrical Liberation Hustler, in spite of myself…
tee-hee hee
Seriously though, i have resisted it, but i can't fight it. It's my swadharma (duty or mission in this lifetime) - i love to inspire people to realize their own power and unlimited potential.
i have overcome much adversity in this life, and have danced on the edge of insanity and death more than once, but that has only made me stronger and more determined. Yoga and meditation have helped immensely in this, as have self-inquiry and a willingness to face the pain until i understood the wrong views that sustained it. On a superficial level, i have worn many guises already and hope to don many more. From shining shoes in San Francisco and teaching yoga on the streets there to owning and operating the notorious back alley jedi yogi training center: Modern Mystic Yoga Academy in Tucson, AZ and leading yoga immersions, teacher trainings and retreats worldwide.
i have dived into many spiritual ideologies and followed their instructions to reach freedom with a boldness and extremism not common to most. This willingness to dive deep to know truth led me into multiple 10-day silent Vipassana retreats and a 3 year, 3 month, 3 day Tantric Tibetan Buddhist meditation retreat in remote Apache land in southeastern Arizona from 2010-2014. That experience only solidified my “stranger in a strange land” feeling, and that is why i have been grateful to discover Steemit as a portal to meet, read and be witnessed by like minded, free-thinking individuals who are in the pursuit of freedom, truth and Self-actualization. i also recently returned from an extended journey to India where i experienced powerful insights that have radically changed how i choose to live and abide in this plane. It was there, especially in a meditation retreat in Lumbini, Nepal (the birthplace of the Buddha) that i was able to lay to rest some remnants of my old self which has afforded me the innocent luminous clarity i am abiding in now.
BUT,
i also like to laugh and be playful
because i spent enough time super serious!
As a wannabe female jester, i.e. "mystic prankster," i love to create opportunities for adults to play 'make-believe' and flex their imagination muscles, and am planning a series of retreats in 2018 to support just that. These will be opportunities to consciously reset one’s life and re-configure one’s identity through connecting to the vastness within, drawing from that inner well and then sharing the nectar discovered there in a genuinely authentic way.
I also facilitate self-empowerment survival training retreats to empower a fully liberated human awakening, integrating the many facets of one's experience and finding support to ascribe meaning that is empowering to events from one's past, in essence writing a new script for one's life. i long to lead tours to India for yogis seriously interested in learning more about the heritage of the eastern philosophies appropriated here in the west, as that i benefitted incredibly from that as well mystic journeys worldwide.
i enjoy nature immensely, creating beauty and shooting guns, shocking people and myself with eccentric and unusual behaviors, exploring new lands like Indiana Jones or new dimensions like Alice in Wonderland, traveling all over the globe as an amateur anthropologist, connecting with others, reading, writing, speaking, doing improv, playing guitar, banjo and engaging in life changing initiation rituals, either staged or spontaneously arising.
Sometimes i still forget truth is a paradox and that ignorance isn’t often removed without a fight. As Emma Goldman said, "The most violent element in society is ignorance." And the fact is, i was forced into this liberated state of consciousness. i invoked it though with my sincere devotion and willingness to employ evolution practices. So, even though i simultaneously at times tried to fit in to a statist society and codependent relationships, luckily it’s all been revealed to be bogus. To be an anarchist is to participate now only voluntarily, which is how i operate. This upsets some, and inspires others, but there ain't no going back now.
What a blessing to be forced to the edges of a society that is sick and to dive off into a brave new state of mind.
Freedom is a state of mind and i am all about reminding folks of that. i use yoga currently as a platform to connect with people and introduce ideas of voluntarism and anarchism. There is no contradiction in the philsophies actually, so i advocate for moksha (liberation) and help folks find dominion in their own minds.
i have a huge passion for this and for spreading the wisdom of self-ownership as a way to disempower ideologies, cults, relationships or conditionings that may have previously held folks back. i have led classes in schools, yoga studios and corporate settings that promoted conscious communication and helped people learn how to practice non-violent communication techniques to have more harmony in the setting they find themselves participating in. i call myself an Evolution Ally because i often experience myself as a mirror and catalyst to help people streamline their lives and find the inner awareness necessary to no longer be prey to stories of bondage. i delight in guiding people in developing their own sadhana (Daily Practice) that accelerates growth with their unique temperament and physical/mental capacities. Self Mastery begins with accepting one's own authority and ceasing to follow others or try to enforce others to obey an authority that you recognize.
i used to feel very owned by my own survivor and victim stories, but now i only refer to them when it's helpful to people; i don’t live as their puppet. This gives me insight into how to best assist others out of their unique belief system traps.
i believe we all have the power to decide who we want to be and it’s only a matter of perspective that needs to shift in order to harness our full potential and courage to obey only our inner guidance system. It’s not a matter of needing anyone else to change around us, rather it’s time to own our lives and our realities wholeheartedly.
I used to say that there were only 2 types of people in the world: Statists and non-statists.
But now i see it more as people who can take full responsibility for their lives and their realities and people who are victims and need subsidizing support to maintain their corrupt views.
If you are a freedom advocate, which i assume most are here, then please contact me, follow me, upvote this article, resteem it, contact me for private online or possible in-person empowerment sessions and/or potentially collaborate with me. i am looking to exchange services also, for example with website design and other business support, filming yoga events and editing video content, helping to share the message of freedom in a medium that will penetrate the minds of those who would benefit from it.
i aim big, i intend to participate in epic evolution, and i long to commune with like minds and support one another's endeavors in that direction.
i plan to share inspiring thought provoking articles here in this portal to add value and support to my fellows here.
i would love to come to your location and offer retreats/yogic evolution immersions or workshops that bring together all the many modalities i have studied and practiced that have led to awakenings. Please let me know if that is anything you are interested in or have any desire to collaborate with.
“Don’t wait for it…create a world, your world. Alone. Stand alone. And then love will come to you.” Anais Nin
i live in permanent pilgrimage now, meaning all is divine improv for me and i take every chance i can get to help myself and others dismantle self-grasping and promote the annihilation of all that one is attached to that causes pain. i claim soveignity beyond my wildest dreams and i literally play in a mandala that was consciously created through focus of mind and disciplines that supported its manifestation. i prove to myself the impossible on a daily basis and take refuge in that.
i am looking for more evolution allies in this rapid acceleration of consciousness.
Hit me up if any of this resonates with you ~

Welcome..... to the new world. Cheers.
cheers right back!
Welcome to Steemit
I just found this and am bowled over by the wonderfulness of it! I can feel your enthusiasm for life dripping off the page. Just what I needed to read this morning. I like your terminology about volunteering and anarchism. The good things in life are definitely what we volunteer for (and perhaps the bad things often are too.)Yoga is quite regimented so i am interested in how you relate it to anarchy. I suppose you mean it puts you in a position of such self knowledge that you can think for yourself and decide your own path. Keep writing. Love it.
Wow, i am so glad you found it because i was craving more connection with like minds through writing it. I will continue to write more about how yoga confirmed my position as an anarchist in upcoming posts. As that anarchy isn't necessarily about no rules-rather no rulers, i find them incredibly simpatico! i do also mean that in its realization, one finds self ownership in such a profound way that one can no longer be prey to disempowering ideologies like statism. Thanks for taking the time to read it and write such a thoughtful response. It means a lot!

Hi, tamarlee, I think you might be Wilber's dream come true:)
just read your post about yoga, citing Wilber, and so it seems you have a very different perspective on yoga than me. ;)
I seldom come across those who feel consciousness is evolving. Even within historic traditions, it's a rather rare position; perhaps Aurobindo in the east. Wilber is the leading proponent of the view in the west and that's why I cited him.
Best wishes on Steemit:)
thanks so much and i appreciate the feedback. i realize i am pretty radical in my views most often. any advice for steemit?
It's an interesting and compelling view! I think the psychedelic community and folks like Daniel Pinchbeck are into it, too.
Advice, Nah, not from me. I just post about what I'm passionate about and you seem passionate about your views on life. A good place to start anyway, but there are a ton of folks here who would be better at answering that question. You'll find them if you stick around.
