Scouting

Is a movement that seeks to educate children and young people based on values ​​and outdoor play, currently present in 165 countries and territories, with approximately 40 000 000 members worldwide, grouped in different organizations.

The Scout Movement was born as a way to combat crime in early twentieth-century England, seeking the physical, spiritual and mental development of young people to become "good citizens" through a specific method inspired by life (1908), by British Colonel Robert Stephenson Smith Baden-Powell of Gilwell, who in 1909 was knighted and received the title of sir, becoming Lord Baden- Powell, I Baron of Gilwell.

In 1907 the first experimental camp was held on Brownsea Island, Poole Bay, Dorset, on the south coast of England, in which 20 boys separated on 4 patrols; "Wolves", "Bulls", "Chorlitos" and "Crows"; Sons of well-known military men who campaigned in Africa or Asia with Baden-Powell and London workers. As a result of the success of the new system, Baden-Powell wrote a book where he collected experiences and anecdotes related to this practice, which ended up being the aforementioned Scouting for boys
