Hello Steemians. My name is Stella. I just joined this awesome community some hours ago, so I thought I'd throw this question to you all who were here before me.

From your experience since joining this platform, what would you do differently if you were a newbie again?

What would you tell your minnow self if you could?

Here's your chance to advice a newbie, to mentor, to touch a life, to sow a seed and contribute to the growth of the community as a whole.

I hope to find some great persons to follow their posts from the comments.

The floor is open. Be kind. Give a minnow a piece of advice, would you?

Very helpful, thank you. I love that you wrote in plain English making it easier for me to understand. It shows how well you can relate to this post. Thanks again. I will follow you now, please do same.

Hello. I hope you are enjoying steemit as of the moment. I advise you to make a lot of friends. It is very useful to find your own niche or even make your own community. Aside from that, avoid copying the works of other people. Have your own free flow of posts. Take care.

So far, I am enjoying steemit, thank you. I will heed your advice. I hope you will be one of my first friends here. To that effect, I will follow you.

If i were a newbie again I will go straight and join the untalented family which is led by @supassinggoogle I would vote steemgigs (his witness account) as my witness and proxy my witness voting to him. He is a great mentor, he inspires those who inspires. #untalented

Always write things that you know or you know you are good at. Find your niche. If you find writing on something that you really love doing then focus on that. Tendency of newbies is to write things that they think the whales wants them to write about. This is not true. Focus on your strength and excel on it.

Leverage the different front-ends or condensers of steem. We have a Zappl = twitter, Steepshot = instagram, D-tube = Youtube, Dmania = 9gag, ChainBB = Reddit and alternative condenser like esteem for mobile and busy.org that a bit easier to use than the standard condenser steemit.com

Lastly enjoy what you are doing. If you enjoy what you are doing you won't tire doing it. Accept the fact that there will be times that you will not get the reward you think you deserve and there also times that you will be surprised by your reward.

You're so kind. Thanks for taking the time to write this, I appreciate.

You are most welcome :)

Welcome to steemit, @stellarr!

If i were to say something to my "mionnow me", would be: "Read THIS, man. Like, right now" :)

My profile is @flashfiction and i would like to present you some links i found really useful when i first signed up here. They will make you start with the right foot on Steemit!

These links will all open on the SAME TAB (Yeah, i know...), so i recommend opening them with "right click->open in a new tab".

Growing FastTopYou HAVE to register here, if you want to build an audience FAST. It's a free service for boosting exposure, upvotes and followers. You just have to click on "login". Have your key at hand (That awfully long number you got when you signed up on Steemit). The tutorials are easy to follow.
All about steem coinsTopThere are three coins of use on Steemit, and understanding them is critical for your success. This is a short explaining video, the very best i've found.
MarkdownTopEven if you can use some basic HTML on your posts, the correct way to format them is NOT HTML. You use a marking ruleset called, yeah, "Markdown". Have this as a complete reference.
PostingMediumThe top activities on this site are posting, upvoting and commenting. This is an excellent tutorial about making your posts look great. Don't miss it!
UpvotingMediumYeah, you tought upvoting was just a matter of machine-gunning your clicks and make easy bucks. Nah. It is actually a little more complicated than that. All you need to know is here.
Better interfaceMediumLet's face it: The interface on Steemit is pretty basic. "Busy" is an alternate interface you can use, more polished and easy to navigate. Both of them can be used simultaneously. Again, you just have to login.
Using BotsMediumThere are a lot of things to learn about this platform, and understanding bots is one of the most important. They are little different services you can access for a fee. I found this tutorial extremely useful.
Trevon JamesMediumI know, i know... there are lots and lots of GREAT steemians here for picking one to recommend, but i just love Trevon's style. He explains EVERYTHING you need to know about Steemit (and crypto) in a funny, accesible way. Check him out.
@flashfictionAwesomeWell, duh. My profile! ;) I write short fiction and tutorials on creative writing. I would be honored if you'd follow me.

Anything i cand help you with, i'm at your service!

See you around!
