Introducing @steemmonstersdb - Monsters Market with Steem Keychain, See Your Total Account Value, and More!

Intro

Let's jump right in and check out https://steemmonstersdb.com

To start we've got just the basics but in time I plan to expand to offer anything and everything interesting and useful. The amount of data being produced by @steemmonsters right now is incredible, so I want to get a good gauge from the community regarding what's useful and where to go next.

If you run into any issues I'm on Discord as blervin#9759 and obviously I'm @blervin around here.

But first, let me show you what we've got today!

Full Steem Monsters Market

market.png

We have a complete market with quick filters to easily find the cards you're looking for. You can search by Edition, Rarity, Gold (or not), Type, and Color.

Once you click on a card the fun begins.

Card Stats

card_layout.png

The first thing you'll see are some stats about this particular card including the total in existence and percent of them listed in the market along with sales figures over the last 7 days to give you a general feel for the market.

To the right, we have Filter by XP that allows you to list only those cards below and also update the stats to reflect sales of cards of that specific XP. In this case, we've clicked on '0' and which updated the sub-header to 'Last 7 Days (0 XP)' and we can see that this card at 0 XP has been selling for $0.77 on average and as low as $0.40 while the best current price is $0.57 right now.

The idea is to let you know what people have been paying for the card recently to get a gauge of the current market.

Add to Cart

At the bottom of the page you'll see a full listing of every card currently on the market for sale. One fun thing here, click on the UID like this and you'll see the steemmonsters.com live data about that specific card. You can also click on the seller and see a full listing of their specific cards.

Simply click the little shopping cart icon to add a card to to your cart.

Shopping Cart

In the upper right hand corner of your screen is a link to the Cart

Bulk purchases are allowed and you can checkout with up to 40 items in your cart.

Now this part is extremely cool. Recently, @yabapmatt who is one of the co-founders of @steemmonsters released Steem Keychain which is a Google Chrome Plugin that allows you to securely transfer funds on the blockchain. It's not only secure, it is faster and works so smooth. Please give this a try, it really is awesome.

And of course, you can always just click the SteemConnect link which will also allow you to transfer your funds easily.

Validate URL

Every time you click to checkout, another window opens with a Validate URL which is another link to the steemmonsters.com API for all of the cards you had in your cart. When you first click this, the 'player' listed will be the seller, but in just a couple seconds you can refresh this page and it will update to your user to confirm that the transaction completed properly.

Listings by Account

current_market_cards.png
If there's a particular seller you want to work with you can use the Listings by Account to easily see their entire inventory of cards available on the market.

And more likely, sellers you can lookup your account and share that URL with your buyers so they can easily see what you have to offer!

Stats

The db in our name is for database and that is my real vision for this project, to have all the Steem Monsters data that users want and need in clear and easy to use tools. Last spring, when @steemmonsters first launched I built out a bunch of tools and had most of the data available. Since then, the game has evolved considerably and my entire data model has completely changed and everything is being re-written.

A larger issue is that @steemmonsters is extremely popular and generates TONS of transactions. Since there is so much stuff right now, I wanted to see what the community thinks is useful and valuable first before I start to build out too much. Obviously, data about battles will be very interesting so let me know what you'd like to see, or anything else for that matter.

Account Market Value

I've put together one basic stats tool to start and I'm pretty excited about this. In short, this gives you an estimated value of all the cards in your account based on current market values.

At first, you'll see a summary by edition much like the Listings by Account and below that a table detailing every card in your collection.
market_value.png

The important part here is the Validate URL again. For many of these cards, we'll have an exact match by XP in the market, but sometimes the market does not have a card with the same XP so it's hard to judge value. In this case, I've looked at the market and found the value of the 'next lowest XP' in the market. In this case, we see the second card says, '120 card XP, 100 market XP' and if you click that you'll go straight to the market to see the value of cards at that XP. The idea here is to get the value of the card that is closest to yours.

This is a fun way for the basic user to see the value of their collection and in a larger sense I hope this is a tool that some of the larger traders find useful as well.

What's Next? - Help me decide!

I've got market listings and sales data right now so I'm going to start working on some charts and other market stats. And obviously I've got XP everywhere but I'll update that to show levels as well.

More than anything, I'd like to know what you want to see. It is my hope to become the go-to source for all things related to Steem Monsters and to basically build anything the community needs. I have a huge list of ideas, but my ideas are secondary to yours so please let me know what you'd like to see, what I've gotten right so far, anything I've gotten wrong, and any other feedback you'd be willing to share.

This is very bad idea :) It should be done my looking at value of single card and multiply by BCX of given car.

VS

I'm not sold on BCX, that honestly seems to confuse things more than explain them so I'm thinking about getting the raw 'source cards count' to show how many cards were combined to reach the current level. Then I can show raw cost per card.

The issue with this and the approach you mention is that the 'cost per [card/XP/BCX]' will be different at every XP level, so then value which do I use for a specific card?

It's a 'rough guess' no matter what if you don't have an exact match so I'm curious what everyone thinks would be most accurate.

Cool. I will have some suggestions later. One thing would be no of cards / BCX required for each lvl.

What is card XP? I'm used to BCX and LEVEL, playing my 3rd or 4th season but, shy to admit - no idea what card XP's are... 0, 20 7560 ?? What are these numbers and what they are used for?

Yeah, this is one of my priorities right now. Just like you say, in the game we use 'level' everywhere, but the 'raw data' available shows only XP.

Very soon I will have levels so you can see things in the common formats you are most familiar with.
