An Introduction to Steemit Minnows Party (SMP), a Party for Minnows!
Welcome to the Steemit home of Steemit Minnows Party (SMP). This party was envisioned and created on Discord by @tintiano on 27/10/2017 as an experiment aimed at exploring effective ways for minnows to grow faster on Steemit.
Membership is free and will always remain so. This party is aimed more at increasing authentic engagement on posts than at increasing post payouts.
SMP has a system of engagement in place on its Discord server to boost user interaction on Steemit posts.
@ThatIndianLady has graciously consented to be the Chief Moderation Officer on the SMP Discord server. She is a familiar face on Steemit and particularly well known for the engagement she generates through the contests she creates and participates in.
Here are some things you need to know about SMP:
1//SMP has a negative view of bot usage on Steemit. It favors a bot-free system where there are real human comments rather than automated comments under posts. SMP does not offer any bot services, free or paid. Members are, however, not barred from using upvote or resteem bots on Steemit.
2//Creating authentic engagement on Steemit is the purpose SMP. You probably have experienced this often on Steemit. You spend a long time making a post and formatting it only to receive not even one comment from a real human. Think about this. Who do we write our articles for, people or bots? As a member SMP, you can expect meaningful, authentic engagement on your posts to increase. Please make it a habit to engage with the content of other SMP members.
Creating authentic engagement on Steemit posts is the goal of SMP.
3//Please use your Steemit name on the SMP Discord server. That way, other members will be able to look up and follow you on Steemit.

I know that steemit may seem very overwhelming to you right now but don't worry. There's a learning curve to everything so just be patient and you'll be churning out posts and becoming a part of something great in no time!
Also if there are any questions that you may have, then just ask your questions on any of my blog posts or in a reply below and I'll be more than happy to assist you with whatever questions you may have! I will also be creating a basic starting out guide for all minnows and newcomers on my blog so do give it a read as that might help answer many of your questions!

Really interesting idea. How do you plan to organize the SMPs? You could have local delegations

TBH, I haven't considered the aspect of delegations yet. The Discord server has a channel where members will be able to share their posts along with a compulsory short description of it. It will then available to be engaged with on Steemit by other members. Those who engage with a particular post will are encouraged to mention so on the channel while tagging the post's author in the message. The author will then be able to verify. He or she is then encouraged to mutually engage with the content of the upvoter, commenter, follower, etc. This will build up a community spirit and a sense of value in SMP.
It's a virtually empty house at the moment, but membership should grow in the coming days. Would you be interested in participating?
Yes sure, that sounds really interesting. I now just realized that the term "delegations" might have been ambiguous in this context. I was referring to actual physical delegations hosting minnows parties in different locations
That is a great idea that will definitely come to fruition as the server grows in membership.
