Hello fellow Steemians! So who is this Solo-nomad-gal you may wonder?
Well, my name is Lisa and I’m a 56-year young solo world traveler, photographer, and blogger. My philosophy is that life is short and needs to be lived to the fullest extent possible.
Details
Ok, the boring details – I grew up in West Palm Beach Florida and had some quirky jobs like training thoroughbred racehorses and selling magazines door to door. I joined the US Air Force in 1982. As it turns out, I loved it, the feeling of camaraderie and belonging, the travel, the world of opportunity, the life long friendships.
I had an ultra glamorous career in both Finance and Medical Administration. When people ask what I flew, I say the D4D. Desk with 4 drawers. OK not exciting jobs, but I made the most of it.
Serving time
I stayed in the Air Force for 28 years and retired in 2010. I saw some exotic (not) postings, like Germany, Netherlands, Alaska and finally Washington DC, to name a few.
New Life Begins
After retirement, I worked as a civilian contractor. I lasted about 1.5 years, before I felt compelled to tell my boss “You’re an asshole, and I don’t have to work for you anymore.” That, my friend, is when my life truly began!
Traveling
Since then I’ve been traveling. I lived full time in a RV for 2 years. In 2014 I moved to Malta then Rome and traveled all over Europe. After a 3-month trip to SE Asia in Jan 2018, I decided to really chuck it all and live out of a suitcase.
Now
I’m a single, happily homeless, nomad - traveling where ever life takes me, in search of adventure. Follow me and come along for the ride! I’ll share past adventures and keep you updated on all the new ones.

My grandpa is from Amsterdam. I was in Hawaii, Canada, Vietnam. I love travel. I love adventures like you. Thanks for your service in military. Nice to meet you.
Well, you've done some hoping around too I see. I was in Vietnam a few months ago and loved it, especially Ha Long bay. Where were you? Have you been to Amsterdam? Great city.
Haven't been to Amsterdam yet, was in & around Hanoi & Saigon. Was in Saigon for 5 years teaching English. I liked Dalat City. Didn't visit Halong Bay but I know that is a beautiful place.
