introduceyourself: I am an abstract visual artist from Minneapolis
Hello Steemit friends! I am an abstract visual artist based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. We recently had the Super Bowl here, and everything was pretty crazy. I had several art exhibitions downtown including original work inside US Bank Stadium where the game was played. I was one of the first artists to represent themselves on the Internet going back to around 1998, which is when I launched my website. It has been quite a journey, and now I am able to make a full-time living being an artist. I have used every form of social media to connect with artists and collectors, and it seemed like the right time to check out this cool platform Steemit. My process is kind of unusual, as I use palette knives on my shoes to walk and scrape the canvas. I find that this creates interesting and unique marks and forms which entices me. Take a look at my process video here:
I also have gotten into crypto currency, which is how I stumbled upon you guys. I currently own ripple, stellar, and tron. It is a crazy market and kind of feels like the wild wild West. Hopefully, we are on the front end of it and it will become commonplace. It's nice to be on the ground floor of something, right? I would appreciate it if you follow and up vote me so I can get rolling on my next post. I will most likely be sharing new artwork and interesting stories about art, film, music, and science. Let me know if I can help.
Many blessings! @bycoleman
I see the artwork in the video was produced over a number of days judging by the change in outfits! How long does it generally take you to produce one art piece, and do you work on multiple pieces at the same time?
thanks for your feedback! It probably takes me about six sessions per painting, and a session is one day of work. Yes, I work on as many as I can have laid out at a time...almost like playing a bunch of chess games at once.
Pretty nice footwork! haha It's an interesting technique, and I like the size of the piece as well.
Thank you! I have to do these big ones unstretched. I will do up to 48 x 48" stretched which is more of a core workout since I can't walk over it.
Welcome join steemit, may you so stemian good and helpful to others in shedding your affection and science in order to be useful for other people.
thanks!
