Who Is Rorschakk?

The simple answer, I am Rorschakk. A bit more enigmatic answer, Rorschakk is no one, an idea, a cause, an experiment... 

Rorschakk is really a 'persona' that I had taken on in early 2015. No, it has nothing to do with the character "Rorschach" from the film 'Watchmen'. Great movie though. Rorschakk was born from the depths of my mind as I was listening to some good 'ol EDM music one day and wondered, "Does everyone else hear the same thing I hear?". Yes, of course everyone hears the same melodic series of tones, the same repetitive snare drum, the same rhythmic kick, and the same gnarly bass drop. What I mean is, Does everyone else hear the same message? Do they interpret it the same way I do? Obviously not, we're humans and what does it mean to be human? To be a part of a whole, and yet, be different. Have different opinions, ideologies, beliefs, and free will to interpret things however we see fit. The result of these questions and this never-ending train of thoughts, was Rorschakk.

What is Rorschakk?

Well. Again, Rorschakk is me. More importantly, Rorschakk is an experiment of sorts. Rorschakk is predominantly lyric-less music that is emotionally driven, usually a direct mirror of whatever is in my head at the time, and ultimately intended to be interpreted individually. The reason for the lack of lyrics, is to not hinder the listeners ability to really feel the song. To not give any predetermined thoughts. To not persuade the audience to feel a certain way exactly. It's purpose is for the listener to make their own conclusions and have their own experience. Hence the name, Rorschakk. 

I suppose that may have been an excessively long answer when all I really would have had to say is, "Think of it as an audible rorschach (ink blot) test."

What is the goal?

Honestly, my only goal is to just have people listen- no, EXPERIENCE, my music.

History Of Rorschakk

Really never was anything too special. It was just some guy with a laptop, high aspirations, and high hopes. You know, the whole 'get rich and famous' thing? I did somehow manage to reach #3 on the Reverb Nation charts in Houston, #356 in the U.S., and #572 worldwide. All within two days of my initial launch. After about a year of self-promoting, contacting record labels, and constantly trying to just get my name out there and be recognized, I eventually just gave up. I hate to say it, but I was defeated. I put myself out there, opened myself up to the literal world, and nothing ever came of it. No one contacted me, no one wanted downloads, no one ever would even comment or like on my posts. Depression set in, and I deleted everything. Completely tore everything down. And so in the proverbial trash-bin Rorschakk resided. . .

What Now?

Rorschakk has been reborn from the ashes of it's own despair and is now making it's return. Harder, better, stronger. Coming straight for your headphones at 140bpm. This time, without the preset standards, without the lust for riches and glory, and without the self-destructive need for gratification. If you like what you hear, awesome. If not, I'm sorry, and it's ok.

My name is Rorschakk and I'm here to make music for the people.
