Hello Steemit Community

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemit community. I’ve just recently been introduced to Steemit by a good friend just over a week ago and though I should take a look myself. I’m very interested in Art, Design & Photography and I can see how a platform such as Steemit could help drive freelance creative industries forward. I’ve never been one for writing but let’s she were this new journey will take me.

About Me
I’m a Durham lad form the North East of England and I sell houses for a living a bit of a strange path to go down from studying design for five years. From initially going through the post I can see I’m in the right place for making new interactions with other fellow creative people.

I like the idea that by producing and sharing content you could be rewarded unlike many other platforms that just expect your content for free to aid in their financial gain. For the creative industry a platform such as Steemit fuels the imagination and hopefully helps to drive at least my creative side forward, and to be fair is also a cool way to get into cryptocurrency.

Hobbies
Art, design and photography are not my only interests I enjoy a good game of tennis and joined a local club about 6 years ago, prior to that I’d never played before. I also like to go for days out visiting the cost, countryside walks and enjoy visiting our local castles and historic buildings all around the North East of England (a good way to have a day out and combine my photography).

Welcome to the platform man :)

unlike many other platforms that just expect your content for free to aid in their financial gain.

Nice to see someone who gets it.

how do you format a quote like that?

You add a > then type some text

Text

hmm ok so

like you said...
and then this should be normal again...
hmm do i have to add a ">" to end it?>

hmm.. how do you end the quote?
by the way thanks... hey do you know how people make text big and bold in comments too?
how about now

Typing stuff

using the bracket to start the block quote

hitting enter twice to leave the block quote and typing this

using # ## or ### makes things levels of headings and increases text size.

one pound then a space then text

two pounds then a space then text

three pounds then a space then text

to Bold text, put ** on either side of the word to be bolded
to make italics put * just one on either side of the word to be italicized

ok

so like this

and then a little smaller...

thanks man now i can be steezy with my

responses

No problem :)

There are a fewmore things you can do

if you want.

those are accomplished with < sub> word < /sub> (remove the space) and < sup> word < /sup> sub goes down and sup goes up.

oh there! you just hit return twice to end the quote. cool!

Yes, that he does. Immensely important this point.

Thank you for the welcome I'm looking forward to reading some of the fantastic posts on the site.

There are many great posts, especially considering the community is just starting to grow. :)

Welcome to Steemit @reddfox - I look forward to seeing your art and design

I sent a small tip to your wallet 👍

Hi @gmuxx thank you for the welcome and the tip I'll have to get started on my next post :) feeling creative this weekend.

My pleasure, I look forward to it

what kind of Art do you make?

I like to dabble around in many different mediums. I always had a big love of photography especially black and white when I used to have access to development studio. I also always loved textiles I'm currently experimenting with lino printing something I haven’t done since college. I like tactile art using multiple mediums (paint, pen & ink, charcoal textiles, clay and thing I can model or design with) and lots of textures. I'm quite lucky where I live we have lots of galleries, museums and historic buildings as well as beautiful countryside and coastline. Lots to fuel the imagination. I’ve always been inspired by artist such as William Morris, Antony Gormley and Salvador Dali. I also studies Industrial Design at University many years ago and always wanted a career in design – it’s still a path that I would eventually like to go back down one day. I’m hoping to post much more work and about what inspires me, I may even venture into some tutorials.

yes i like textiles as well. looking forward to your posts
