Hello Steemit!

My name’s Ryan and I have been reading, learning and figuring out how this all works for the past couple months. I figured it was time that I formally introduce myself.

I work as a mechanical engineer and design mechanical systems in buildings. I have a wonderful wife and two beautiful little girls. I love cycling both on the road and off. I really enjoy single track mountain biking.

I am recently completely obsessed with the cryptocurrency world and am enjoying finding my place in it. I am trying to learn everything I can and find my place as a contributor. I am promoting the technology and trying to get others excited about it. I am researching all the different coins out there, holding a few and doing just a little trading. I have thought about mining as well, who knows what the future holds.

I have truly enjoyed all that steemit has to offer. It has been a great resource for learning and research. I hope to be able to contribute meaningful content and look forward to finding a way to give back to this community.
A big thanks to all that contribute and have made steemit the valuable resource to the community that it is.

Hi Ryan, welcome to steemit.

Hello, Ryan, and Welcome to Steemit.

Looking forward to reading some interesting and meaningful content from you. Currently, the cryptos space is like the internet in the mid 1990s, so there will be much growth and development.

Hope you can keep tabs on it, and maybe provide some great material to Steemit by offering insights into what's going on in the space. For a non-techie such as myself, we are always looking for such posts.

Below are a few basic points of advice re posting on Steemit.

  1. Longer posts are more lucrative than short posts. If you make a post of 20–30 paragraphs, it's more likely to earn rewards.
  2. Include some photos, images or graphs, to complement the text.
  3. Make sure the text and photos are formatted properly, so that your post looks attractive and appealing.
  4. Be yourself.
  5. Be interesting and informative.
  6. Create quality content. Steemit is intended to be a platform of quality content. (You will see many insignificant posts with meager content and no quality. Most of those of posts [called “shitposts” by Steemit whale Stellabelle] will earn few rewards and soon pass into oblivion.)
  7. Get online and start curating. Read various posts, comment on those posts you find interesting, and upvote those posts. That’s the best way to attract followers.

Hope this helps for now. Good luck, and Full Steem Ahead!

You are cool. Thanks for sharing, hehe. I'm Oatmeal Joey Arnold. You can call me Joey.

Hi Ryan, I'm Aly, welcome to Steemit. What will you be blogging about in future? :)

Hi Aly. I am not 100% sure. I want to make sure I am providing something of use. There are so many people here that seem to just be telling everyone their opinion without any founding for it. I don't really want to be that guy.

My goal is to use it as a place to have a useful exchange of thought. When I have something of value to share I will share it. It's my feeling the community will guide me.
