Hello, it's me :D
I'm some kind of a self-educated computer/electronic nerd who was born around 100 years to early.
As a factory teacher child I was early into tinkering and stuff but also I'm a teacher child which leaved traces xD
My uncle's car service station also improved my interests in that area but it early becomes clear for me that I don't only want to become a mechanic.
Some day my mom came back from work and presented to me a Commodore 128D which they wanted to throw away at her office. After days spending time in front of Oil-Imperium and games that wouldn't be recommend for kids in my age and also for the belonging joysticks the interest to take apart the computer came up in me.
A short thought and some fast acting later I not only took my first computer apart, also I received my first electric shock :D
Unfortunately I wasn't able to learn really much about computers at this time. There was a course my mom signed me and her but when we participated the teacher told us he couldn't teach me something that I already know. In the end the course was about how somebody uses DOS.... in a time where window based systems where already some kind of standard.
In my school we already had a windows based system - YEY - exactly Win 3.1. So long so good if there weren't our teachers. Their knowledge was limited to know exactly where to power on and of the systems and how to use paint and the text editor.
After some class mate showed me the magic of batch files it happened from time to time that the principal entered the schoolyard some kind of furios just because we deployed a 'win.bat' file with following similar one liner on C:\ of one of the school computers:
@echo 'Virus detected'
This overwhelmed them so often and every time we used the same trick and they never found the problem.
Then there was a new thing which was now affordable for normal citizens called Internet. The only problem was that I was broke as always and also far away of being of the age to close a deal with a provider.
Somehow I managed it to use the bank data from my brother and the personal data from my mum. Some clicks later I was a happy customer of AOL, especially I was really happy about their lax verification process. After some months my mom accidentally stumbled over the phone line I've relocated ninja style like into my room. There it was the time I enlightened her about internet and stuff. She decided to order it so I can use it officially :D
From there till now I really spent to much time here(in the Internet) but I was able to learn so much stuff like building a laser engraver with a 60x60cm 'build' area which originally should became a 3D printer. Also I've made some projects with arduino, raspberrys and orange pi's and my all time favorite routers where I installed OpenWRT/LEDE.
I'm absolutely interested in DIY home-automation, crypto-currencies, IT security in general, hardware tinkering/reengineering, embedded systems, bioengineering, astronomy, physic, electronic, aquaponics and many more.
So feel free to follow, ask questions or up-vote :D
Welcome to Steemit!
Thank you! but actually I'm in here since 2016 just went active now :D
Welcome back then!
hello @rbthnk welcome to steemit!!
Thx & hello :D
HaHa thx! nice jif xD
Welcome to Steemit! Will look forward to seeing your engineering creativity
Hello again :D I've more tinkering/ghetto hack capabilities so engineering is in my case some kind of to much of good but I'm deeply interested in that area.
Sure. We will for sure connect. Me being in the field of information technology as per profession, im sure you great to offer, at least to me. Looking forwar to seeing your next post.
People like you will help us make "100 years in the future" become the reality tomorrow!
Oh thanks so much I'm flattered a little bit now :D
But believe me if the future depends on people like me humanity is more likely doomed as it is right now :D Maybe I've some little technical skills but in return I have many social restrictions xD
Introverts of the world unite!
Separately.
In our own homes.
Welcome and enjoy your stay :)
Thx, I think this will work :D
Nice to have you on board! Follow me at https://steemit.com/@bitgeek
Welcome to Steemit. I bet you have a shed in your garden. I would love to have a space where I can tinker with things too. Hopefully one day.
I write a bit about technology so you may be interested in checking out my posts.
Hi,
unfortunately I haven't :(
I live in a small flat and tinkering here is really painful but I could have it worse so I dont complain :)
Welcome back to Steemit! I would like see your projects.
Hi (:
Oh I've thought often about documenting my post.
I'm most times daily reader of HaD and I like when people document their stuff but practically I have no workspace.
Also I used to have a low attention span so I work on different things at a time. These things prevent me from being able to make a good documentation but I'll continue to try :D
