Reynaldo Rodriguez - Introduceyourself
Hi there. My name is Reynaldo Rodriguez and I will use this post to introduce myself to the steemit community.
I grew up in Cuba in a small house up until age 12. My memories from back then have to do with playing on the streets most of the day and leaving school at 4:20 pm. I used to be a very active soccer player during that time and had amazing cardio and running speed.
Soon after I was 12 my family won a lottery people call "El Bombo" in my home country. This allowed us to emigrate to "the land of the free" where everyone has an opportunity to reach their dreams. I remember my first few years in the United States I felt a stranger. I barely knew any English and every time I spoke I sounded like a Russian comedian to everyone else in the class. This is why I developed better writing skills than most other people. I would force myself to write to learn the language but I did not comfortably speak it until 6 or 7 years later.
Like most people, I followed the plan society gave me. After all... it was what everyone was doing. Go to school.. get a job... buy a home... then create a prosperous family. All of this seemed great until I graduated last December 2016 from Florida International University. You see... I have always been poor but I never cared about material wealth or luxury. Time has always been what I really appreciated in life. Time to think. Time to learn. Time to grow as a person. Prior to graduating I still had this to some degree. My father worked hard to pay the bills and he was a happy camper as long as I came back with A's from the university.
Then a month later after graduating, I began working for the first time. I was a Software Engineer working for Randstad Technologies testing various aircraft applications. The job was stressful and mentally challenging but I'm a stubborn person who likes to be challenged so I worked very hard to learn how to test the various system applications. I had support from the seniors working on the project who taught me many concepts that I still use to this day in order to stay productive and develop websites and other simple tools and applications.
When I hit the 7th month with this job something inside of me told me there had to be a better way I just could not accept spending the next 30 years of my life living this way. I was spending two hours of each workday driving from Miami Gardens to Fort Lauderdale area. Then the rest of my day was spent on my assigned computer testing the various applications or filling out boring paperwork which completely killed my creativity. So for the next two months, I slept on average 5 hours each day... and I would perform my job to the best of my ability then research ways to make money online when I got home until I was totally exhausted.
My research led me to affiliate marketing. I tried advice from all type of sources. About 90% of what I tried was a waste of my time (missinformation), but here and there I would find a real gem which would push me towards the right direction. And so two months later after I managed to do my first ClickBank sale I decided to leave my job and put all of my effort towards building fully automated residual income streams online. My family suffered due to my decision but in all honesty, my job was slowly killing me. Spending an average of 10 hours per day sitting down (at my desk/and driving to work) was destroying my health and the cognitive load of having to perform an assignment multiple times (even when it was not my fault as I did as I was instructed) was driving me insane.
Since I left my job I work triple as hard and I'm consistently growing through failure. I have many great mentors on my side who provide encouragement and advice because they want to see me succeed. I have become part in various affiliate networks and underwent training with PRIMERICA on selling life insurance. Right now my main focus is to produce popular content the internet finds valuable. I am trying to document my journey from rags to financial independence so other people can find inspiration and draw from my mistakes and successes to attain the best outcome much faster.
Looking back at my life. I have lived through various stages. Four years back or so I breathed health and fitness to the point I even held an active personal trainer certification. I accumulated abundant knowledge about supplements, exercise routines, powerlifting and nutrition. I have forgotten some of this information but I still remember the bigger majority. Maybe later I write about what I learned during this time to help other people achieve the body of their dreams and a healthier lifestyle. Something I always did when I got back from work was to go on running/sprinting sessions around my community. This has always been my cure for stress and to clear my mind so I invite everyone to develop this habit.
The fitness stage lasted until my GPA dropped so low I was about to get kicked out of my dual degree program at Florida International University. With the influence of a friend and mentor I came to realize I needed to change things around so I became an avid reader and researcher and I honed this skills for well over two years until recently that I am putting all of my effort towards EXECUTING everything I learn in order to reach my goals. You see, school teaches you to memorize random facts that have little to no use in everyday life but one of the main keys to success is not to memorize but to EXECUTE and test for results on those things you learn.
My current goal is to become financially independent so I can give back to my family and more importantly because I want to be able to spend my time doing the activities I love and not enriching or following the agenda someone else sets for me. I'm a big believer in the law of reciprocity so I always try to provide VALUE with everything I share. I'm looking to build an online business and a personal brand that will generate 7-figure income on a yearly basis. I can't do this on my own. I need your support (not monetarily) but as a loyal reader and follower.
In the weeks ahead I'm stopping most everything I'm currently doing and I will fully focus on learning how to become successful in the steemit platform. I will be writing a post where I will share all valuable information I find to help the so called "minnous" become "dolphins" and "whales". Steemit is not a get-rich-quick type of deal. You will need to work hard and be consistent. My promise to you is I will share tools and information which will help you advance faster. Pretty much everything I learn that I will be applying towards my own success I will share so you can also use it to your own advantage.

If you asked me to describe myself in one sentence I would say:
"I'm the product of a thousand brilliant mentors" - Reynaldo Rodriguez
By the way, whoever Delegated me some of their Steem Power I'm very thankful to you for doing this. I'm especially thankful if it was @gandalf that did this. I invite the experienced steemit users to connect with me and share some of their experience. Help me cut that learning curve. If you need to verify my identity I will create a facebook post and a tweet.
very great post! Will you continue to pursue it :)
Thank you! I'm a stubborn person. So you bet I will. I will strive to provide the best content I can and use the feedback of the community to improve with every single post.
Hello Reynaldo . Welcome to steemit family. Hope we will see more nice story from you. :)
Thank you! As of lately, I have been focusing on writing about affiliate marketing and ways to make money but I can also focus talk about other topics. This is a process so I will continue to learn and improve on everything I do.
Welcome to the community dude! quite an inspiring story.
What I have learned is that as long as you don't give up and continue working towards a worthy goal sooner or later you will find success. I don't know if I will succeed with steemit or not but even if I fail I will learn new skills that will be able to apply towards success. So that's the key. Never give up.
Welcome to Steemit! I always have been interested in visiting Cuba someday, but alas, that hasn't happened yet. I hope you enjoy your time here and be sure to check out DTube and Dsound as well. These are the video and audio platforms that are based on the Steem Blockchain and are great additions to your Steemit world. As well, I hope you will look over some of my content and consider following along! Kindest regards.
Most definitely will. I will look into DTube and DSound those seem like interesting projects. Right now a big part of my goal is to meet more people in this community and learn from the content they share as well. I haven't been back to my home country the last 14 years or so since I came to the United States. If you go make sure to visit Varadero Beach. That's one of the hot places to go to.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Reynaldo! Smells like Steem spirit! Happy to have you on board!
Thank you! I'm picking up steam on Steem :)
Hi Reynaldo, welcome to Steemit!! I'm also new here :) Someone sent me this steemit post with tips for newbies to Steemit, and I personally found it pretty helpful! I found you through the Steemit chat group, so I see you're already getting the hang of it much quicker than I did! :) Looking forward to more of your content.
Yes. I'm definitely researching information like a mad scientist because I know there are resources out there that can make all the difference. Thank you for sharing!
