Introducing Myself

Who am I? One of the hardest questions I’d ever be asked to answer. But I can give it a try - and I’d like to give it a try. Most people call me Pimboon (or variations of Pim or PB and some others), and I’m an only child who grew up in Bangkok, a fairly large city in Thailand. I was primarily raised around adults my whole life, so I am often told that I am mature past my age. Sometimes even some of my friends’ problems and attitudes confused me, and I couldn’t understand them. Expanding on that, I’ve always had an insurmountable amount of pressure placed on me because of how mature and responsible I was, how many activities I did and how I always seemed to excel in them. I’ve been passed for my last two years in high school, and entered university early.

Some people don’t really know me well. Ever since high school, I seemed like the average nerd in class who didn’t have many friends, and who didn’t do many things outside studying. But I’d like to say how wrong that is. I have an extensive social life with a wide circle of friends, and I do a lot of activities. Sure, I like to study and learn, but that’s not all I do. In high school I was part of the volleyball, tennis and swimming team, because I loved and enjoyed sports, and did well in them. I also ran a community service group called ENP, where we took care of abused elephants, which I was am really passionate about. In university, I am part of a youth-run organization called AIESEC, where I get to meet new people all the time, practice my leadership skills, and put myself in a bunch of real-life problems that require actual problem-solving skills. I don’t sit around and work all day - I put myself in new, exciting situations and step up. I also am part of TEDxChulalongkornU, where I work for the Graphics department, and work primarily on animation and online media promotions.

My hobbies include many things: I love reading, and I’ve read everything from history to science fiction to fantasy to nonfiction, and at one point, I even read documentaries. I also love playing sports and meeting new people, and being active. I also enjoy learning and teaching languages: I’ve picked up Japanese to a high level, and I teach English to little kids. But what people would associate me most with is drawing and art. I’ve loved drawing since I was a young toddler, and I’ve been drawing anything and everything ever since. I guess that’s what drew me into what I am most passionate about now: architecture. I love buildings, I love exteriors, I love different styles, types, buildings, aesthetics, everything. I love to travel, and I love to draw what I see - which includes a plethora of buildings. That’s what made me apply: I love arts, drawing, and buildings, architecture seems like the only thing for me. One year and a bit has passed, I’m in my second year, and I don’t regret a single thing. I aspire to graduate, travel around the world, and explore many types of working fields; I’d like to put my flexibility and adaptive skills to good use and try many things as a side-dish, but also mainly focus on architecture and design as my main course.
