How can someone earn money for nothing? You know the problem with us millennials is entitlement. We feel like maybe social media platforms owe us something for posting stuff and engaging with the content. Like we are so important we deserve to be paid for the content we create. And the value we bring to these platforms.

I really think we need a saviour.

Now there is a platform called steemit. Where people get paid directly for content directly without intervention from a middle man. And I can’t lie people on that platform seem so entitled like they own the content they create and that they should be be paid for the value they create. Well the truth is they own the content they create and should get paid for their value they create. And they do get paid. There is nothing wrong with that. In fact this is how things should have been from the start of the internet.

A scam by definition is a dishonest scheme, a fraud.

Steemit is a new social media platform where everyone gets paid for the value their online posts create. On the other hand facebook is a social media platform where users create value and content and their money goes to a few people. To add injury to the salt they also sell users data… which you agreed to happen when you checked that you agree with the terms and conditions without even reading them. In addition to all these they still bombard you with adverts left right and centre! In a nutshell facebook and co take the value you create on their platform monetize it and keep all for themselves. Someone might argue, “but the facebook platform is free” …. So is steemit. But on steemit you get paid for the value you create. I am not saying either is a scam, but there is one definitely taking advantage of its users.
Like I said before, we need savior… and no, not Superman neither do we need Black Panther (We want the movie though).

What we need is someone to save us from monopolies that come to ‘enslave’ us.

Monopolies that own OUR data. We need to own and monetize our own data.
That saviour is steemit. Where you get paid for the value you create. Long live blockchain, power to the people!
