Thank you for busting such myths! I heard such sayings many times by the most educated people and it always puzzles me.

It's so important for many people knowing that they live in capitalism and money is like the air we breathe in such system. If you say

Money is not the most important thing.

then you're right, IF YOU'RE selfish. If you're dead money will not help YOU :) But may help many others including your family to prosper.

Even in a worst-case scenario for you money can do great things if you think of your spouse, your kids and maybe the community. People often say why should i save money, why should i invest in a company when i were run over by a vehicle today. What is the benefit of all that, i wanna live now! The most unlikely events should be a reason to not thinking in the long term.. for others and for yourself?

..to accomplish great thing like you mentioned. It's quite fascinating what is possible with money if you use it right.

Point 3 was misleading for me at a first glance but also true because giving and taking are belong together. But someone should be generous and should give something before he receives something. My rule is always give and expect nothing in return or at least not immediately.
