Introduction

Hi Steemit Folks! My name is Giada and I come from Italy! I am so glad and honored to join this fantastic community 😊
It is not so easy to give a definition of “who I am”, so I’ll try to write all the things I love in my life and that contribute to define who I am.
So, let’s begin!

My love for Knowledge

I started my studies at the Classical Lyceum and I was an average student. Indeed, in that period of my life I gave more importance to life experiences rather than studying all the day long.
I managed to complete the high school without many difficulties and I decided to attend the University after a long period of thinking. I’ve chosen Psychology because I was very interested in understanding how the human brain works, as well as its inner mechanism and what guides a man’s behavior.
At the age of 22 I completed the Bachelor with full marks, and now (at the age of 24) I am about to complete the MSc degree... so I am quite anxious at the moment, and I hope the writing something about myself will calm me down 😊
I am currently finishing my Thesis about a Research on preventing the behavioral addiction in adolescents leveraging Self Compassion. I consider Positive Psychology very interesting and I am convinced, as well as many experts in the field, we will hear a lot about it in the near future. Also, this work is helping me to understand that I love Research, so that I started to collaborate with other research institutes.
This path has led me to understand that I have a strong attitude towards this field, and it opens a broad range of opportunities. On the other hand, I must admit that I am still a lot confused about what I really want to do in my life because… keep reading! 😊

My love for Music

This is a huge part of my life, and a big piece of my soul.
My mum always remembers me about when I was little and I started singing in the car the song “Reflection” of the Disney movie “Mulan”. She is still telling me that in that precise moment she was sure about my career: becoming a Singer. Now for me it is still the biggest dream I have.
I sing every day
Every moment
Everything
The first time I sang on a stage as musical main character was because the main actress was sick. I was 12 years old. The school called me the day before the show to tell me to learn all the musical songs. It was not a problem for me, since I already knew all the songs!
The only problem was that at that time the dress was just too tight for me. Literally. Indeed I was overweight. So they chose me just for the voice, while another kid danced at my place.
That was the first time that I really loved being on a stage, hearing the applause and I felt pure happiness.
That happiness is still with me every time I sing in a show.
My favorite kind of music is Soul and R&B, but I also love the “Big ones” as Pink Floyd, Genesis, Dire Straits, Prince, Stevie Wonder and so on..
My favorite male singer is Jason Mraz. I have been so lucky to attend his concert this year, and I cried at every song for the emotion, because it has always been my dream since I was a kid.
My favorite female singer is Lianne La Havas. She is young but so full of ideas. She basically makes the songs I would like to write!
At the moment I sing together with my boyfriend, the best guitarist that I’ve ever known and the best person that I had the honour to meet. Together we have an acoustic trio called Soul Chillin’.
At last but not least I’ve started to play the piano at age of 6. This is a private and important part of me. I don’t like to play in public, because when I play the piano I try to express what I really feel. The classical authors that I prefer are Chopin, Schubert, Litz (that I can’t play because my fingers are too tiny!) and above all Debussy.

My love for Acting

Yeah, I love a lot of things, but it is just because every single thing gives me something that defines me. I love to watch movies, mostly the psychological ones, thriller and musical. I feel deeply involved in the plots and in the feelings of the characters… so that I cry every time that a movie ends!!!
I love acting, I studied for a lot of years, and I still go on the stage to play different kind of roles. Is funny if I think that at the age of 3 or 4, when I went on the stage I started to cry in front of everybody and nothing could stop me! Now it’s just the opposite.
My favorite movies are Sweeney Todd, Moulin Rouge, Mullholland Drive, Memento, Pearl Harbor, and so on….

My love for Drawing

I started to draw mushrooms (but beautiful mushrooms) when I was a child. Then I kept drawing anime and manga when I had the time. Now I try to do my best with the digital drawing. I often draw for my boyfriend’s videogames.

My love for Crono

Crono is my dog. I’ve waited for it for all my life, and for this reason I gave it the name of the TIME (Chronos). It is a German Shepherd, 40 kg of hair and love. While it is a beast with every person that knocks at my door except of MICHELE.

My love for Michele

He is my boyfriend from 4 beautiful years. I met him at Highschool, because he used to play with other people in my school. Before we got together, we had a lot of incomprehension at the beginning. The important thing is that now we are together and that I love him and he loves me. We’ve been apart for the first year, because he studied in Holland, so we used to pass our nights on Skype, playing games together and counting the days left to hug each other again. I will talk about our incredible story in other posts in the future, so be prepared for that, because it worth it!! 😊
He’s a wonderful man, so smart and funny. He’s a Computer Engineer! We are so lucky because we share a lot of passions, mainly music and travelling.

My love for Life

I end with my big love for life, for all the little things of every day, for all the experiences that I do and that I will do.
I hope that now you know a little more about me, and that you would like to know more in following me!
