My healing journey so far...
My name is Murray. I live in Australia with my wife Ana.
For most of my adult life I have had health issues; and have tried to resolve them using "natural" methods.
About six years ago I had some hip and shoulder pain. I visited my osteopath, then a chiropractor; but got no relief.
A general practitioner diagnosed polymyalgia rheumatica, an auto-immune disease affecting the blood vessels in the muscles. The GP arrived at the diagnosis by a blood test and by prescribing a short course of prednisolone. The medication quickly reduced the pain and stiffness and the blood test showed high inflammation markers.
After I experienced hand, wrist, knee , ankle and hip pain a rheumatologist diagnosed Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Over the years I tried many natural supplements and adjustments to my diet but the only relief was afforded by medications.
About 7 months ago I decided to consult a naturopath and make a serious effort to cure the disease permanently.
A stool test showed that I had an imbalance in my gut biome . The naturopath advised me to adopt a low carb diet and heal my gut by taking various nutrients and beef broth.
So far, my symptoms have been worse and I have lost a lot of weight. My thyroid function has been low and I fall asleep easily in the day time.
I consulted a medical intuitive who advised me that my gut was about halfway healed. I hope she is right and that I notice improvements in my health soon.
Thank you for the upvote. I wish you get better soon. Just believe you will.😊
Welcome to steem @murray64 ! Two things for you to try. First and most importantly Nicotinamide Riboside ( Niagen). It may be hard to get In Australia but do yourself a favor and get it. Start by taking 1g per day for at least a week then scale back to 500mg to 250mg . Secondly you might also find the probiotic L. Reuteri helpful. High doses of omega3 has helped some people with arthritis as well.
Thanks for your suggestions. Niagen is one supplement I had not heard of. I have started researching it.
