On the subject of introductions.
I've always found introductions to be a bit boring, however they are sometimes necessary. Perhaps if I just started posting right away, you might get a feel for who I am, what I do and what I'm like based on what I post. However, through an introduction, I give myself a way to shape your expectations and encourage you to follow me in the future.
However it is important to be truthful during an introduction, because it is inevitable that an introduction might put some people off, while interesting some others. The encouraged people become followers and expect you to hold up to the standards you put while introducing yourself. If your introduction was not truthful and earnest, you will put off your followers and thus remain with nobody interested in what you do. And ultimately, the currency of the internet is attention, not Steem, Bitcoin or dollars. We're all here to earn as much as possible.
So, hi. My name is Hudson and I live in a small town in southern Poland. I am, what some may call, a renaissance man. I have rather diverse interests and I like to share them with the world. I used to run a small blog called "On the subject...", with each post being a presentation of a ranty, subjective viewpoint on something, ranging from grand ideas such as Christianity or freedom, to obscure things such as motivations of the Emperor Constantine XI during the fall of Constantinople.
My interests include, among other things: programming, web development and technology (my day job is front-end web development, I'm an avid Linux fan); gaming (I run a Polish YouTube gaming channel); graphics and design (I've started learning GIMP when I was 9); music (I used to produce electronic music under the aliases Protégé and Corile); politics (I'm a right-wing Christian conservative libertarian); literature, philosophy and rhetoric (largely non-fiction political or philosophical works); languages (I handle five - Polish, English, German, French and Greek - with some capacity) and linguistics; history of the Mediterranean (mostly of Greece and the Byzantine Empire); and cooking (I make killer pancakes).
Another important thing about introductions is that if they are too long, you may bore people and they will not come back. So, I shall attempt thus to end this post and allow you to determine for yourself whether it is worth it to follow me or leave an upvote. I will be, of course, grateful for either.
Godspeed.
