Who We Are...

Hi there! My name is Tanya. I go by "Mountain Mamma" because my family lives on a mountaintop in the Ozark Mountains. A little bit about my family:

We are homesteaders because we love it. We are homeschoolers because we believe it's the best way to go. We are Hebrews by faith and live according to Biblical standards.

Six weeks ago I had my sixth baby. Yes - SIXTH. My poor daughter was really hoping for another girl, but instead she got her fifth little brother. And since we're on the subject... There are a few things you should NEVER say to a pregnant lady. I've heard every one of them...most of them multiple times.

1. You look like you're going to pop!
   I got this at just about every store I entered in the last few weeks of this pregnancy and trust me, by the time I'm at 37 weeks and can't see my toes, the last thing I need you to tell me is how stretched out I am.

2. Whoa! Are you sure there's only one in there!?!
   Pretty sure....yeah.

3. My personal favorite... "Will this be enough???"
   I started getting this from neighbors and family members when I got pregnant with #3. Just imagine how they feel now that I have 6!

4. Do you know what causes that!?!
   No. Could you describe it for me in detail please?

5. The most shocking one yet, because it was so random: "Wow. The only person in your family who's overweight is you."
   Really? That's a baby in there... and thanks for the compliment.

Well...I love my family, and I love to write. Music stirs my soul and I love playing the guitar. I spend my days as a chef, maid, teacher, student, wife, and mom. I used to run to blow off steam, but life right now keeps me close to home; so, I will attempt instead to Steemit.
