Sounds like you have a wide berth of interests and personally I’d focus on many different types of writing and let your personality shine through as you find your niche. #Homesteading seems to capture a lot of the DIY, off grid, sustainability, etc posts. But many people have many different interests and blog about them all! Witnesses approve of the blocks of the blockchain and therefore everything here flows smoothly and our comments, posts, likes, etc go through. We can vote for them using steemconnect and it’s good to vote for at least 10 (you’ll get familiar with more and more of them as you spend time here).

You can delegate steem power which is basically letting someone else use it (and get a stronger vote) until you want to take it back. People pay for delegated steem power and some people give it to others for free. It’s like a loan. I could go on, but I’ll save more for later!
