Hello Steemians - I would like to introduce myself. The OLD meets the NEW!
Hi, I am Mike. I go by the call name @MikeTheCoin, corny I know but sort of suites me. I am no young Rooster any longer (54 yrs old) but have plenty to teach and even more to learn. Unlike many my age I embrace many new social platforms and tools. In fact, that is how I got into crypto.
I have served in the US Military for a brief four years when I was 17, then worked at NSA as a contractor for eight more years before I started working for private/public companies. I have always been in the telecommunications and technology space throughout my career.
I got married to my beautiful wife when I was 28 and this year it will be 27 years of marriage - WOW! Seeing that in print takes me way back.
Like most everyone else we had our challenges and struggles, and for me. I love my wife more today than the day I married her.
I also have an incredible son and amazing daughter that is about to go away to college later this year.
So back to why @MikeTheCoin. Well 16 years ago I worked for a local tech company and I was the VP of Sales. When the 2001 Dot-Com bust happened my employment ended abruptly - I was let go. At that time we had just moved to a new State, bought a new home. My son was 3 and my daughter was just born, and my wife was not working. That day my son was at heading to work with me because it was Saturday and that is what we did on Saturdays. I spent the Saturday mornings catching up on paperwork and he would play on the floor of my office.
Fast forward sixteen years… I have learned how to “MAKE it RAIN”. How to create sales, business revenue, obtain new clients and satisfy existing ones. Simply create value that others were willing to pay for. I was fortunate to be awarded the INC 5000, and to be able to employ others during those years. So I am giving myself the name - MikeTheCoin.
In the past 5 years, I learned other skills like Online Marketing, Video Marketing, and Lead Generation.
Now I am learning about Cryptocurrency and how I can leverage it to serve my needs and others.
I have many interests. One that I enjoy a lot is cooking. I only cook at home and that is only when my wife allows me too - hahahha. I have even won some contests.
So with that, I like to say I am proud of my accomplishments but recognize I have so much more to learn and that I value the process of sharing and building relationships that benefit all. That is really what attracted me to the Steemit Community and I hope you will accept me as I am in your community.
Be well.

Hi Mike. I see that everything you take for ends with success. :)
Oh I wish that was true. The truth is my list of failures are by far much larger than successes. But like some say - without failing you can never succeed. Thanks for the kind words.
