STEEMIT while you CREEMIT™

What's poppin' bruhs and bitches.

Today I'd like to briefly map out a long term side project that I would like to begin going into the new World of Warcraft expansion, "Battle for Azeroth."

I didn't mean for my first real foray into posting on STEEMIT to be about a video game but playing WoW is one of my favorite hobbies and I aim to "write what I know" for the time being. But for something to be worth writing about and worth following, there needs to be a progression path. So without further ado, here's some background info.

I've played the game on and off since about late 2006/early 2007, I was in middle school when I first started playing. Originally started off messing around here and there on my older brother's account during Vanilla (was still playing a lot of Ragnarok Online before this... a story for another day...), then I played a lot during Burning Crusade and Wrath. Quit early in Cataclysm as I got into my later years in high school. Didn't start playing again as a full fledged adult until late into Warlords of Draenor. There have always been huge ebbs and flows in my playtime and seriousness in this game.

Us crypto people like charts, and as you can see here, I'd say that I'm on a big uptrend at the moment. I would say that PvP is the main catalyst for me reaching a new All Time High on this chart.

My current aim in this game is to go from a middling, intermediate level player to playing it as close to a professional level as possible.

To get close to the higher levels of this game, I'm going to need to be playing a LOT. I also figured, why not document that process on websites that could help me monetize my gameplay such as steemit, youtube, or twitch? It would be dumb of me not to, I'm going to play this game anyway so I might as well try to turn this game into an asset... That way I can buy more cryptos >_>

Steemit it the first website I've ever written about anything WoW related aside from a few posts on the old Elitist Jerks forum in BC or on the WoW forums. So we'll be able to dig up this write-up on the Steemit blockchain in the year 2023 and say that this post is where it all began. By then I'll clearly be one of the most famous World of Warcraft players out there and all of my favorite crypto-market buys will 10,000x+ by then. ( $1,000 EOY is FUD my linkies stay stinky)

Anyway, a bit more background. I was more active during some expansions than others. Towards the middle of legion I was taking it very seriously and doing a little bit of mythic raiding, trying to stay near the cutting edge on my artifact weapon level and collection of legendaries back when those things were harder to farm. I had PC heating issues beginning in the middle of Legion that would cause my computer to crash so I eventually began avoiding doing mythic raiding or higher end M+, bit depressing. And a few weeks after Tomb of Sargeras was released, as my main characters legendaries were getting all fleshed out and realizing that the artifact power grind was getting less and less important with each patch, I began working on alts, stopped logging on to my main as much, and stopped raiding actively.

Downgraded myself to a more casual player due to the PC issues but also because I was having fun just screwing around in Battlegrounds on my alts, and anyone who has played legion knows it wasn't too alt friendly until about patch 7.3. I'd log on, do a couple of BGs, screw around, log off. But I had a lot of fun.

But I had always avoided arena because I'm anti-social and didn't have anyone to queue with.

My brother recently started playing again a month or two ago, and his main interest has usually been PvP. He's gotten me into arena and I've recently caught the Arena bug. I'm absolutely obsessed with PvP now which brings me to my current goals in game...

Ideally, on the PvE side of things, by early Battle for Azeroth I'd like to be in a semi-hardcore Mythic guild that isn't exactly going for server firsts but is trying to progress through raid content faster than the average mythic guild on my server. And on the PvP side of things, by the end of BFA I would like to maybe, just maybe, at least make an honest push for Gladiator in Arena in at least one season on at least one character and establish myself as a good player. I think I have that in me.

Even if I can't get Glad in BFA, I'll just push for it in the next expansion and by then I think I'll be good enough. I don't know how hard it is when you get into the top 10 and top 5% rankings, never progressed that far in arena so I might be biting off more than I can chew. But even though I'm still an Arena/PvP novice compared to some other people, never underestimate the power of pure autism and obsession.

I love this game enough to play an ungodly amount of PvP for the next few years. I'm also very excited to step into the Dueler's Guild in BFA as well as all of the PvP changes in general. I've been thinking that the Deueler's Guild can help me get very good at Arena and vice-versa.

I'm always hungry to improve and I'd say I'm "Good" at the game but I still have a huge margin for improvement and I'm so much worse than the people who are higher rated. It's both humbling and motivating to get torn apart by some really good players. In the last expansion, I've realized how PvP requires a crazy depth of knowledge of the game to even be halfway good at it. You have to know what every class in the game does throughout each patch cycle, then you need to know how your class or group composition can counter them effectively and how to use all of your skills, creativity, and environment to your advantage. If you're not up to snuff you can get ripped to shreds (........ and not just by the feral druids LMFAOOAHAHAHA.... ( v_v) what have i become...).

I've been watching some of the top level arena players during the last few official Warcraft twitch streams and it made the game look like a sport within itself.

Part chess, part action game. Intriguing for any avid MMORPG fan.

For now I'll just be pumping out updates here and there on Steemit about my WoW journeys, a good playground for A/B testing how I present this stuff and the first step in a thousand terabyte journey, so to speak.

If you're a fan of this game and happened to stumble upon this write-up, who knows, maybe someday we can play together.

  1. Keep your passwords safe: Unlike conventional sites, Steemit has 4 types of passwords. Each offers varying degrees of access to your account, so know where and when to use each of them. Also, make sure to keep them all safe and secure.
  2. Get Steem rewards: When writing a post, you'll have the option to choose how to receive your reward: "Default 50%/50%" or "Power Up 100%". As of this moment, choosing Default 50%/50% is the better option. But this can change over time. Check our post to know more.
  3. Upvote wisely: When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also, make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
  4. Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power: Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Convert and power up more Steem into Steem Power so you can have higher values on your upvotes.

So without further adieu, here's some background info.
It should be without further ado instead of without further adieu.
