We're having a girl!!
So, I did join Steemit back in August, and really haven't spent too much time here because I've had other things going on and it's just been on the back burner. Here recently, I've just felt this overwhelming urgency to be more involved in the Steemit community and I'm really enjoying it. It's nice that so many people are engaged in creating original content and are willing to conversate over topics of interests.
My wife and I just found out last night for sure that we're having a girl. We already had the name picked out, and I decided to surprise my wife with some fresh vinyl on the bathroom mirror to put a smile on her face in the morning! We have a 14 month old boy, and he has really just been an awesome baby. I am excited, but at the same time nervous because sometimes just the idea of two babies seems overwhelming.
It's just been here recently that I've started making vinyl decals. I really enjoy working with vinyl. I enjoy graphic design, and with vinyl, it brings those designs into the physical world. I am still hoping to turn it into a business, but I haven't been able to dedicate as much time to it as I would like. I had all these ideas before I bought it, and while I was waiting for everything to be delivered, but when everything was set up, I was like a deer in the headlights. Although, the more familiar I'm becoming with everything, the easier the creative process is becoming and I'm building a portfolio of work while I learn.
We have this entertainment center that's filled with photos, so when my son started crawling around and getting into things, I had to figure out a way to keep him out of it. I just so happened to have an old glass table top that was almost a perfect fit. It does the job well, and seemed like the perfect place to put a stylish quote about family. All of the scratches in the glass resulted in bubbles in the vinyl, but it isn't noticable from the regular viewing area.
You know, something like these emojis seems so simple, but you have to take into consideration that each different color is cut from a different sheet, and then they have to get lined up and layered. It takes some time and some patience, but emojis are fun for everyone.
This flag was the first multicolor design I made. It took me a while to figure out how to get it to the cutter because the design software that came bundled with my cutter is just cumbersome. Personally, I've been using PhotoShop 7 since it came out, so the trick was figuring out how to create images that I could import into the cutter's software. PhotoShop proved to be invaluable by being able to isolate one color and hide the other.
Anyways, I'm excited to share some of my (sometimes crazy) life with you, as well as some of my perspectives on things past and present and my hopes for the future :)
Congratulations on finding out ur having a girl! Life is the most amazing gift in this world :)
i remember u from when u first joined, we started at the same time basically! ;)
Glad to see u are coming back, steemit has sure grown quick and i think u will be happy with the payouts since sbd is at 10x what it should be..
Anyhow, i hope to see more of ur posts soon.. take care.
All aboard the STEEM TRAIN!! lol .. Good to see you again. I discovered steemit about the same time I discovered provably (un)fair crypto dice games. I spent a lot of time on rollin.io ... If I would have just used the btc i got cheated out of on their site to just trade cryptos, I could be rollin..lol I've had to watch opportunity after opportunity pass on by because funding trading accounts on the exchanges hasn't been available in my state and the fees on paxful just don't make any sense to use it to fund a trading account. By the time you pay .50 to .75 cents on the dollar, and then pay to transfer it to a platform where you can exchange it for other cryptos, you would need a 200% or more gain just to break even. Everyone wants a piece of the action and I feel a lot of the hype driving the hysteria recently is way overrated. Steem just seems to be useful and adaptable. I'm looking forward to the payouts! I was spending way too much energy on facebook and the atmosphere has just gotten so negative. It's nice that the majority of the conversation I've had on here has been neutral to positive! I'm interested to see what this platform does for my emotional well-being as well as my wallet's!
Welcome to Steem @maxwellg. Feel free to follow me @kanasite and upvote. Cheers :)
Hey bud, i see u are rather new to steemit, welcome! :) i just wanted to let u know that asking for upvotes in this platform will end up getting u lots of flags and downvotes, which cost u more money! So instead of begging for upvotes or follows, write good content and good comments and people will be more than happy to upvote u! My vote is worth .08 cents, if u make a good comment on any of my posts i always upvote it. So u will make a lot more friends and money that way then the way u are going about it.. i hope my advice helps.. cheers mate ;)
