#Introduceyourself: Golf philosopher, music composer, truth-seeker - I'm Marutuk, nice to meet you

  Hello Steemit community,

    My preferred name is Marutuk. I am a professional golfer, swing coach, and hobby-musician living in northern Europe. I studied business and communication at an American university where I was the team’s #1 golfer. Although I carry the Scandinavian ‘feminine holistic’ approach to competition (process and community before winning), I absorbed some Yankee drive. 

     Admittedly, assimilating to American culture unbolted my identity. One enters a state of chaos when the Truth deteriorates (culture shock), but the dragon did not swallow me. I choose to observe and speak my own words. My cross-Atlantic experience has emboldened me and spurred my curiosity in search of Truth.   

     I am fascinated with this creation, Steemit, emerging from the ever-growing commissary ant colonies behind open networks. Reading the comments and posts, and inhaling the atmosphere, the network’s value and utility appears clearly. Many token teams boast mammoth funds raised in coin offerings to match their unicornal ambitions, but few have the buzzing operational activity and liquidity of Steem.

     With excitement and eagerness I will watch this intellectual space evolve. How will our tribal tendencies materialize in this new arena? Will it go left, right? Will it turn full flat-earth? Will the inherent incentive structures flame chaos or instill order in the competitive space of ideas?

     Twitter provides me with a powerful tool to build an echo chamber deterring feed. I follow atheists, Christians, Muslims, Marxists, libertarians, venture capitalists, Kekistanis, tech pioneers, feminists, meninists, comedians, SJWs, WSJ, CNN, coders, youtubers, artists, golfers, spiritual leaders, nihilists, engineers, sociologists & psychologists, socialists, scientists, and science deniers. The age of fake news is upon us, where the risk of slipping into the confirmation-bias vortex is profound. But the rewards enabled by the ability to triangulate and compare sources efficiently are just as profound. Perhaps Steemit, this new vehicle of discourse, will provide myself and the world with a useful tool in creating order out of this semi-borderless global community. I am happy to take part in the discussion.

     I believe in conducting my life in a manner that is good; for me as well as for my immediate family, my friends, my acquaintances, my immediate community, my city, my country, and my fellow global citizens; not just today, but tomorrow, next week, next month, and coming years.

     I embrace criticism and scrutiny; please do not hesitate to call me out if I appear drifting into utopian intellectual masturbation and/or tribalism.
